Boen earns second NJAC Defensive Player of the Week

CAMDEN, N.J. (October 24, 2022) –Rutgers University-Camden goalkeeper Sean Boen (Byram Township, Morris Knolls) earned his second weekly New Jersey Athletic Conference honor of the season when he was named the NJAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Monday.
 
Boen earned his first Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 3.
 
The latest honor for the sophomore goalie came after he posted a pair of 0-0 shutouts during the week against Stockton University and Montclair State University in NJAC road games. In the Stockton game, Boen made six saves and controlled the box in a contest where the Scarlet Raptors were out-shot, 18-6. Against Montclair State, which was ranked #10 in both the United Soccer Coaches and D3soccer.com Top 25 polls, he made three saves as the Red Hawks held a 14-5 advantage in shots.
 
Boen owns six shutouts this season, including four against NJAC opponents. He has played 1,427:17 minutes in goal out of the Scarlet Raptors' 1,710:00 total minutes. He has made 83 saves and owns a 1.32 goals-against average and a .798 save percentage.
 
Boen has a 5-6-5 record in goal this season for the 6-7-6 Scarlet Raptors. For his two-year career, he is 10-10-5 with a 1.19 GAA, eight shutouts and 116 saves. His career save percentage is .795.
 
Rutgers-Camden closes its regular-season schedule Wednesday at 7 p.m. when it hosts conference foe The College of New Jersey.
