CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 27, 2022) – Senior setter
Brinn Hassan collected 31 assists to pull to within 37 of the single-season program mark of 861 she set last season as the Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team swept John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 3-0, in its final match of the regular season here Thursday.
Rutgers-Camden, which evened its record at 14-14 heading into post-season conference play, won by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-19.
John Jay fell to 13-12.
Hassan, who set the career assist mark Tuesday at Stockton University, raised her own all-time record to 2,741 assists.

Dyamond Free. Choice had 12 kills, hit .409 and added three blocks and three service aces. Parrish had nine kills, hit a phenomenal .727 and added three block assists. Free added seven kills and a team-high 10 digs.
In the first set, the Scarlet Raptors scored the first four points and were never caught on the way to a 25-17 win. They wrapped up the win on a kill by Parrish. Hassan collected 13 assists in the match, while Free had four kills.
After falling behind, 2-0, in the second set, the Scarlet Raptors scored the next four points to take the lead for good, tying the score on back-to-back kills by Free and Choice. They moved ahead on two straight Bloodhound attack errors.
The third set was tied at 14-14 until Rutgers-Camden ran off five straight points on kills by Free and Hassan, a service ace by freshman defensive specialist/libero
Bella Craig and a pair of John Jay attack errors. A ball-handling error by John Jay wrapped up the set and the match. Craig finished with three service aces.
Senior libero/defensive specialist
Morgan Fox collected nine digs and two service aces as she inched to within eight digs of the 1,500 milestone. She is third on the program's career list.
Freshman defensive specialist/outside hitter
Ciera McCrae collected four kills, four block assists and six digs, while sophomore right side
Peyton McGregor added two kills and two block assists.
The Scarlet Raptors host a first-round New Jersey Athletic Conference playoff match Tuesday. The fourth-seeded Scarlet Raptors face fifth-seeded Montclair State University at 7 p.m.
