CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 5, 2022) – The Goucher College women's soccer team scored an early goal and the Gophers made that margin stand up as they defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 1-0, in a non-conference game here Wednesday afternoon.
The loss was only the second for the Scarlet Raptors in their last six games, snapping a three-game winning streak and dropping Rutgers-Camden's record to 4-5-1. Goucher, which entered the game having lost three out of four games, improves to 7-3.
The Gophers collected all five of their shots in the opening half, with junior midfielder Taty Jimenez scoring the lone goal at 10:04.
Rutgers-Camden finished with nine shots, including a 6-0 margin in the second half, but couldn't score the equalizer. The Gophers, meanwhile, finished with a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks, including a 3-0 margin in the first half.

Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday when it plays a 4 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference game at Kean University.
