Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Jarrin's goal, another shutout, help Raptor men improve to 3-0

ASTON, Penn. (Sept. 5, 2023) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's soccer team scored a goal early in the second half and went on to post a 1-0 non-conference win over Neumann University here Tuesday.

After being held scoreless through the first half, the Scarlet Raptors (3-0) didn't waste any time breaking the deadlock after the break. Only 1:22 into the second half, freshman forward Allen Jarrin fired a shot into the low left side of the net for his second goal of the season.

Rutgers-Camden held a 4-3 edge in shots during the first half, including the only two on goal, and had a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. After the Raptors' goal, the Knights came to life trying to get the equalizer and finished with a 13-6 advantage in shots, yet only a 4-3 margin in shots on goal.

Rutgers-Camden finished with a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Once again, the Scarlet Raptor defense came up with a huge game in recording its third straight shutout to open the season. All three of those shutouts belong to junior goalie Sean Boen, who made four saves while raising his record to 3-0. Earlier in the day, Boen was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week following his two season-opening shutouts Friday and Saturday.

Neumann goalie Seth Walker made two saves in taking the loss.

The Rutgers-Camden men return to action Friday with a 7 p.m. game at Gettysburg College and play another 7 p.m. game on Saturday at Messiah University.
