CAMDEN, N.J. (April 20, 2024) – Junior
Matthew Tepfer picked up wins at third doubles and sixth singles, but the Rutgers University-Camden men's tennis team lost to Ramapo College, 7-2, in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East Division match here Saturday.
The Scarlet Raptors dropped to 0-9 overall and finished 0-3 in their first season in the WIAC. Ramapo improved to 5-1 overall and is 1-1 in the WIAC with one conference match remaining against SUNY-Oneonta.
Tepfer combined with senior
Tyrone King Jr. to post an 8-5 win at third doubles and won his sixth singles match, 2-6, 6-1, 10-4.
The Raptors lost 8-2 at first doubles with the team of senior
Edward McWilliams Jr. and freshman
John Brady. The combination of sophomores
Thanh Ngo and
Christopher Abacan lost at second doubles, 8-1.
McWilliams dropped his match at first singles (6-3, 6-0). Abaan and Ngo were defeated at second and third singles, respectively, by 6-1, 6-0 scores. Brady was defeated at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-2, and King lost at the fifth flight, 6-0, 6-2.
