Marini competes in hammer throw at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (April 25, 2024) –Rutgers University-Camden senior Alexis Marini had the chance to compete against athletes from the Division I level as she participated in the hammer throw here Thursday at the Penn Relays.
 
Marini, the only Division III athlete in a field of 20 mostly Division I athletes, finished 13th in the hammer throw with a distance of 49.65 meters. The throw was her second-best throw of the season behind the 51.21-meter distance at the Paul Donahue Invitational April 20, when she finished third out of 25 athletes.
 
Rutgers-Camden will send its men's 4x100 team to the Penn Relays Friday, while several throwers will compete at the Lions Outdoor Invitational the same day.
