CHESTERTOWN, Maryland (September 11, 2024) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team had several chances to break a scoreless deadlock late in its non-conference game at Washington College here Wednesday afternoon.
While the Scarlet Raptors couldn't convert its opportunities, neither did the Shorewomen as the two teams played to a 0-0 tie.
The tie leaves Rutgers-Camden with a 0-3-2 record in the early season, while Washington stands at 2-0-3. All of the Raptors' contests have been either ties or one-goal defeats.
The Scarlet Raptors held a slim 11-10 advantage in shots, but the Shorewomen placed four shots on goal to the Raptors' three. Washington held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Midway through the first half, the Shorewomen had a goal disallowed by an offsides call, which was the closest anybody came to denting the nets.
Rutgers-Camden had several good chances late in the second half. With 8:30 remaining, senior forward
Emily Owens had a shot from inside the box that was saved by the Shorewomen's sophomore goalie
Olivia Allen.

Amy Maurer had a pair of free kicks just outside the box in the last five minutes, but both were blocked by the Washington College defensive wall.

Michaela Graham finished with four saves for her first shutout of the season and the fourth of her career. Allen made three saves for Washington College.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Sunday with a 2 p.m. game in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, against King's College.
