WILKES-BARRE, Penn. (September 15, 2024) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer battled through one-goal games and ties throughout its first five contests of the season, while looking for its first victory.
That victory finally arrived here Sunday while breaking the Scarlet Raptors' string of tight games.
Rutgers-Camden exploded for three first-half goals and went on to defeat King's College, 3-0, in a non-conference game.
The win lifts the Scarlet Raptors to 1-3-2, while the Monarchs fall to 1-4-2.
The last time the Raptors scored three or more goals came in a 4-0 win at Bryn Athyn College on Sept. 16, 2023. Bryn Athyn also will be Rutgers-Camden's next opponent with a 7 p.m. game in Camden on Wednesday.

Emily Owens got the Scarlet Raptors started at 7:23, following a giveaway by King's. Breaking in from the left side, her high shot produced her team-leading second goal of the season.
The Scarlet Raptors doubled their lead at 26:20 when freshman midfielder
Ava Stowell notched her first collegiate goal on a high shot to the right side of the net.
Rutgers-Camden added its final score at 32:15 when senior forward
Josie Jackson-Conner tallied her first goal of the season. She was aided by the first collegiate assist from freshman forward
Asia Horne.
Rutgers-Camden finished with an 11-9 advantage in shots, including a 7-5 edge in shots on goal. The Raptors held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Michaela Graham made five saves to register her second shutout of the season and second straight shutout. Junior goalie Ashlyn Crawford had four saves for the Monarchs.
