GALLOWAY, N.J. (Oct. 11, 2025) – Freshman winger
Talia Thomasson scored her first career goal and the Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team made that tally stand up as the Scarlet Raptors defeated Stockton University, 1-0, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Saturday.
The victory lifts the Scarlet Raptors to 2-5-6 overall and 1-2-1 in the NJAC, while the Ospreys fall to 6-3-5 overall and 1-1-2 in conference play.
The win marked only the fourth time Rutgers-Camden defeated Stockton. The Ospreys hold a 20-4-5 record in the all-time series, although the Scarlet Raptors are now 2-1-1 in the last four meetings.
Thomasson's goal came at 54:55 with a shot into the top right of the net for the first goal and first game-winning goal of her collegiate career.
Stockton held an 11-6 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks, but once again the Scarlet Raptors' defense stood tall as Rutgers-Camden registered its seventh shutout of the season. All of the shutouts belong to freshman goalie
Giselle Lizardi, who made five saves against the Ospreys to raise her record to 2-3-6.
Stockton senior keeper Morgan Keil had one save.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action on Wednesday when they host two-time defending NJAC champion The College of New Jersey in a 7 p.m. game.
