Edmundo, Senft named NJAC Defensive Players of the Week

CAMDEN, N.J. (Nov. 17, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's and women's basketball teams swept the New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors when the conference recognized its weekly winners today.
 
Sophomore forward Courtney Edmundo was named the NJAC Women's Defensive Player of the Week, while sophomore guard Ryan Senft captured honors as the NJAC Men's Defensive Player of the Week. Both players helped their teams post 2-1 records in three games last week.
 
Edmundo collected six steals, 10 blocked shots and 25 defensive rebounds during the week, including three steals apiece against both Haverford (Nov. 11) and Baruch (Nov. 14), 10 defensive boards against Baruch and six blocked shots and eight defensive rebounds against FDU-Florham (Nov. 15).
 
Overall, during the week, Edmundo scored 42 points, had 29 rebounds and dished off six assists, in addition to her 10 blocks and six steals. She notched 22 points against Haverford and had a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds against  Baruch. Her performance helped the Rutgers-Camden women even their early-season record at 2-2.
 
For the season, Edmundo leads the Scarlet Raptors in scoring (14.5 ppg), rebounding (9.3 rpg) and blocked shots (11), while tying for the club lead with 10 steals.
 
Edmundo was a four-time NJAC Rookie of the Week during her freshman season in 2024-25 and was a member of the tournament team at the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic (Nov. 15-17, 2024). She also was named Rutgers-Camden's Raptor of the Week on Nov. Nov. 18, 2024.
 
Senft has been a big cog in a 3-1 start to the season for the Rutgers-Camden men. Last week he contributed seven steals and 20 defensive rebounds in his three games. Overall, Senft produced 46 points, 25 rebounds, seven assists and seven steals overall during the week, including eight defensive boards out of nine total rebounds against both Penn State-Lehigh Valley (Nov. 11) and Amherst (Nov. 14). He scored in double figures in all three games, including 20 points against Penn State-Lehigh Valley and he had 16 points and five assists against Maine Maritime (Nov. 15) in the consolation game of Amherst College's tournament.
 
Through his four games this season, Senft leads the team in rebounding (8.8 rpg), is second in scoring (16.3 ppg) and assists (10) and is third in steals (8).
 
Senft was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week on Dec. 9, 2024, and earned honors as Rutgers-Camden's Raptor of the Week this season on Nov. 10.
 
Edmundo and Senft also earned berths on the Rutgers-Camden Academic Honor Roll during both of their freshman semesters.
 
Both Scarlet Raptor teams will play 6 p.m. home games this week, with the men entertaining Penn State-Abington on Tuesday and the women hosting Gwynedd Mercy University Wednesday.
