Raptors' Collier earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honor
CAMDEN, N.J. (Dec. 8, 2025) –
Tamyia Collier has had a fine freshman season for the Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball program and the freshman guard was honored for her performance by the New Jersey Athletic Conference on Monday.
Collier was named the NJAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week after collecting 30 points and 16 rebounds in a pair of Rutgers-Camden games last week.
Collier had 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals in a loss to Rowan on Dec. 3, while shooting 5-for-10 from the floor and 3-for-6 from the foul line.
In a win at Ramapo on Saturday, she collected a game-high 17 points and added nine rebounds and three steals. She shot 6-for-12 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the foul line. Her 17 points and nine boards set new career highs.
Collier has started all nine games this season for the 5-4 Scarlet Raptors, while averaging 7.7 points and 5.2 rebounds. She leads the team with 22 steals and has added 11 assists and three blocked shots.
Collier has scored in double figures on three occasions, including both games last week. She also has had three or more steals in five of her nine games, with a high of five against Drew University in her collegiate debut on Nov. 8.
In addition to her NJAC honor, Collier was named Rutgers-Camden's Raptor of the Week on Monday.
