CAMDEN, N.J. (Feb. 24, 2025) – Throughout her freshman season at Rutgers University-Camden, forward Courtney Edmundo (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) was one of the top rookies among New Jersey Athletic Conference women's basketball players.

Edmundo capped her fine freshman year today when she was recognized as the final NJAC Rookie of the Week for this season. It was the fourth time this season Edmundo captured NJAC weekly rookie honors, including Nov. 11, Nov. 25 and Feb. 10.

This week's honor was based on the NJAC's final regular-season games, which were held on Feb. 19. In a contest at New Jersey City University, Edmundo scored a game-high 18 points and added eight rebounds and one steal. She shot 8-for-16 from the floor, including 1-for-2 on three-point attempts, and was 1-for-4 from the foul line.

Edmundo played in all 25 Rutgers-Camden games this season, starting 24, and led the team in rebounding (8.7 rpg) and blocked shots (9). She finished second in scoring (10.6 ppg), assists (55) and steals (38).

Along the way, Edmundo produced seven double-doubles, beginning with 15 points and 11 rebounds against Valley Forge (Nov. 12).  She had 16 points and 10 boards against Penn State-Harrisburg (Nov. 23) and 19 points and 13 rebounds in her next game at Rutgers-Newark on Nov. 26. She also had double-doubles against Drew on Jan. 6 (12 points, 13 rebounds), Kean on Jan. 11 (18/10), William Paterson on Jan. 18 (12/11) and The College of New Jersey on Feb. 5 (15/12).

Edmundo scored in double digits in 13 games, with her high of 19 points in the November 26 Rutgers-Newark game. She had 12 games with double-digit rebounds, with a high of 15 against both Ramapo (Dec. 7) and Rutgers-Newark (Jan. 22). She also dished off four or more assists on five occasions, including a high of six against New Jersey City University (Jan. 15).

Edmundo's high of five steals came against City College of New York (Jan. 4) and she blocked two shots against both Stockton (Jan. 8) and Montclair State (Feb. 1).

In addition to her four NJAC Rookie of the Week honors, Edmundo also was named Honorable Mention at the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic (Nov. 15 and 17) at Rutgers-Newark and was the Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week on Nov. 18.

A Biology major, Edmundo also captured Dean's List recognition during the fall semester, when she was a member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
