CAMDEN, N.J. (March 28, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's tennis team hadn't played since last October 19 as it opened its spring semester schedule here Friday.
In contrast, Neumann University already had gone 2-1 in matches since March 13.
The early-season experience paid off for the Knights as they posted a 5-2 victory to even their season record at 4-4. Rutgers-Camden falls to 3-5.
Neumann took the one point for doubles by winning two of the three doubles matches. The Scarlet Raptors captured first doubles, 6-3, behind grad student

Alex Turcu. Neumann's duo captured second doubles with a 6-4 win over freshman
Neal Shah and sophomore
Julian Pinder. The Knights won third doubles, 7-5, by defeating the Scarlet Raptors' team of junior
Christopher Abacan and sophomore
John Brady.
The Raptors' top two singles players posted the lone victories for Rutgers-Camden as Loope won at the top spot (6-3, 6-0) and Shah won at second singles (6-0, 6-3). Abacan dropped a 6-0, 6-0 match at third singles, while Pinder suffered a narrow loss at fourth singles, winning 6-1 in the first set before losing 7-6 (8-6) and 10-7. At fifth singles, Turcu lost, 6-1, 6-0, while Brady was defeated at the sixth spot, 6-3, 7-6.
The Scarlet Raptors swing right back into action on Saturday when they travel to Salisbury University for an 11 a.m. match.
