EWING, N.J. (March 30, 2025) – After traveling to Salisbury University on Saturday to face a strong program in its spring semester opener, the Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team had to open its New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule here Sunday against the perennial NJAC champions.
 
The College of New Jersey, which has won the NJAC title every season dating back to the 1984-85 scholastic year, swept past the Scarlet Raptors, 7-0, to continue its dominance in the NJAC. The Lions improved to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
 
Rutgers-Camden, which lost 7-0 at Salisbury on Saturday, fell to 6-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The Scarlet Raptors are 0-17 against TCNJ since Rutgers-Camden revived its women's tennis program during the 2011-12 scholastic year and every match has been a sweep by the Lions.
 
TCNJ swept all three doubles matches to earn the one point for doubles. Freshmen 
Grace Albert and 
Jilliane Jaugan were defeated, 6-0, at the top spot, while junior co-captains 
Katie Moore and 
Ashton Sirko were defeated at second doubles, 6-1. Junior 
Bryn Kelleher and freshman 
Emma D'Amico also lost a 6-1 decision at third doubles.
 
The Raptors lost all six singles matches, including by 6-0, 6-0 scores at the third (Albert), fifth (Sirko) and sixth (D'Amico) spots. At first singles, Jaugan dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision. Moore was defeated, 6-1, 6-2, at second singles and Kelleher lost, 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles.
 
The Scarlet Raptors entertain Bryn Athyn College on Friday at 4 p.m.
