EWING, N.J. (April 19, 2025) – With the small field of teams in the East Division of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's tennis alignment, the Rutgers University-Camden men's tennis team was able to play its entire WIAC schedule in one day here Saturday.
Unfortunately for the Scarlet Raptors, they lost both matches to fellow WIAC East Division opponents The College of New Jersey (7-0) and SUNY-Oneonta (6-1).
Rutgers-Camden closes its season at 3-8 overall and 0-2 in the WIAC.
TCNJ defeated SUNY-Oneonta, 7-0, to capture the WIAC East Division title.

The Scarlet Raptors won their lone match of the day when graduate student
Alex Loope posted a victory at first singles, 6-3, 4-5, retired.
Oneonta swept the three doubles matches to earn one point. Loope and freshman
Neal Shah lost at first doubles, 6-2, while junior
Christopher Abacan and sophomore
John Brady were defeated at second doubles, 6-0. At third doubles, sophomore
Julian Pinder and freshman
Alex Turcu dropped a 6-2 decision.
While Loope won at first singles, Shah dropped a 6-2, 6-0 match at second singles and Abacan was defeated at third singles, 6-0, 6-0. Brady lost at fourth singles, 6-1, 6-0, and Pinder was defeated at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-2. Turcu lost his match at sixth singles, 6-1, 6-2.

The Lions earned their first point by sweeping the doubles matches, with Loope and Shah dropping a 6-2 decision at the top spot. Abacan and Brady were defeated at second doubles, 6-0, and Pinder and Turcu lost at third doubles, 6-0.
In the singles matches, Loope lost at the top spot, 6-1, 6-4, and Shah was defeated at second singles, 6-0, retired. At fourth singles, Brady lost a 6-1, 6-0 decision. In the other three singles matches, the Raptors were defeated, 6-0, 6-0, with Abacan at third singles, Pinder at fifth singles and Turcu at the sixth flight.
Loope finished the season with a 5-6 mark in singles (4-6 at first singles and 1-0 at third singles), while Shah also had a 5-6 singles mark (4-6 at second singles and 1-0 at third singles). Turcu posted a 4-6 singles mark in his first year with the Scarlet Raptors (2-0 at fourth singles, 1-4 in the fifth spot and 1-2 at sixth singles).
Turu also posted a 5-5 mark in doubles, while both Loope and Shah had 5-6 records in doubles play.
