Leone leads Raptors at annual Rutgers-Camden Invitational

WILLINGBORO, N.J. (April 7, 2025) – It was a wet, cold day here Monday for the annual RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Golf Invitational, but 54 golfers weathered the miserable conditions in the 10-team event.
 
The event was held at the Par 71, 6,602-yard Rancocas Golf Club.
 
Anne Arundel Community College of Maryland won the event with a 323 team score, while both Delaware Valley University and Rutgers University-Camden shot a 326, with the Aggies taking second place on a match of cards.
 
Lancaster Bible's Jake Rotelle carded a 3-over par 74 to earn medalist honors, followed by Aidan Newman of FDU-Florham with a round of 76.
 
Rutgers-Camden sophomore Santino Leone tied for third place with a 77, while junior Reid Walker shot an 81 to tie for 14th. Junior Glenn Foley tied for 19th with an 83, junior Pearse Lee tied for 22nd with an 85 and freshman Andrew Slattery rounded out the Raptors' team with an 89, tying for 29th.
 
The Scarlet Raptors also played three individuals, with freshman Jack Sheehan tying for 29th with an 89 in his Rutgers-Camden golf debut. Sophomore John McPeak finished 46th with a 99, while senior Gloria Campos shot a round of 100 to finish tied for 47th.
 
The Scarlet Raptors will return to play Thursday at William Paterson University's Pioneer Spring Invitational. It will be held at the Preakness Valley Golf Course in Wayne.
