WESTMINSTER, Md. (Aug. 31, 2025) – Freshman goalkeeper
Giselle Lizardi notched a shutout in her first collegiate start and the Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team earned its first point of the season with a 0-0 tie here Sunday at McDaniel College.
The big tie, against a team that received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 Preseason Poll, leaves the Scarlet Raptors with a 0-1-1 record. The Green Terror own a 1-0-1 mark.
Although McDaniel held advantages of 5-1 in shots, 3-1 in shots on goal and 8-5 in corner kicks, Lizardi and the Scarlet Raptor defense kept the Green Terror off the scoreboard. Lizardi made three saves and denied several other dangerous chances.
Rutgers-Camden registered its only shot in the 62nd minute on a long drive by sophomore
Ava Stowell, which was saved by McDaniel sophomore goalie Mack Langlo.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Wednesday with a 7 p.m. game at Swarthmore College.
