SWARTHMORE, Penn. (Sept. 3, 2025) – After allowing four goals in a season-opening loss, the Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team has found its defensive footing and the Scarlet Raptors earned their second straight shutout here Wednesday against a strong Swarthmore College team.
Although the Garnet held big advantages in shots and corner kicks, Rutgers-Camden held on to post its second consecutive 0-0 shutout, lifting the Scarlet Raptors' record to 0-1-2. Swarthmore stands at 2-0-1.
Freshman goalkeeper
Giselle Lizardi faced 33 Swarthmore shots and saved all 13 on goal to earn her second career shutout. Her 13 saves tied for the 12th-highest single-game save total in program history, while the 33 shots she faced tied for the eighth-highest single-game mark against the Raptors.
Swarthmore outshot Rutgers-Camden, 33-5, and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. Lizardi made four saves in the first half and nine in the second half, when the Garnet held a 20-4 advantage in shots.
Sophomore
Maddy Jacobs launched two of the Scarlet Raptors' five shots, while junior
Brianne Reeves had Rutgers-Camden's lone shot on goal, coming in the second half.
Seniors Dahlia Bedward and Lila Travers split goalie duties for the Garnet, with Travers making the lone save while playing the second half.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Wednesday, Sept. 10, with a 7 p.m. home game against Washington College.
