BIRMINGHAM, AL (March 14, 2026) – Throughout the indoor track season, Rutgers University-Camden freshman Jayden Deleon routinely recorded high jumps over two meters and was one of the top athletes in that competition at every meet.

At the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships here Saturday, Deleon recorded a high jump of 1.98 meters and missed three times at the 2.03-meter mark as he finished in a five-way tie for 14th place among the 18 competitors. The event was won by Connor Smith of Ohio Wesleyan with a high jump of 2.12 meters.

Deleon entered the meet with a program-record 2.09 meters for the fifth-highest jump in the nation this season. He jumped 2.00 or more meters in five of his previous eight meets this season, including the last three, with his program record of 2.09 coming in his most recent outing on March 1 at the TCNJ Last Chance Meet.
