WESTMINSTER, Md. (March 14, 2026) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball team made a furious run in the fourth quarter of its ECAC semifinal game here Saturday, but its rally fell just short as top-seeded McDaniel College edged the fifth-seeded Scarlet Raptors, 57-56.
Rutgers-Camden closes its season at 15-14 while McDaniel (21-7) advanced to Sunday's 1 p.m. championship game against second-seeded Brooklyn College, which eliminated Keene State, 65-61, in Saturday's other semifinal game.
On Sunday, McDaniel won the title with a 66-59 victory over Brooklyn.
Down, 50-34, entering the fourth quarter, Rutgers-Camden went on a 22-7 run to throw a huge scare into the host team. McDaniel scored the opening field goal of the final quarter before the Scarlet Raptors went on a seven point run. With 5:18 remaining, the Raptors had cut the gap to 56-47. With 20 seconds remaining, a layup and a foul shot by freshman guard
Tamyia Collier made it a 57-54 game.

Hope Goodwine a pair of foul shots. She hit the second one, cutting the gap to 57-55. Another McDaniel turnover, a steal by Collier and a foul put Collier on the line in the last second. After hitting her first shot, the second one missed as McDaniel survived the comeback.
Rutgers-Camden's last lead came at 10-9 in the first quarter on a foul shot by Goodwine. Moments later, McDaniel took the lead on a three-pointer by senior guard/forward Elaina Beckett. The Green Terror held a 14-11 lead after one quarter and opened up the game with an 18-8 second-quarter run on the way to a 32-19 halftime lead. McDaniel led by as many as 23 points in the third quarter (50-27) before taking a 50-34 lead into the final quarter and surviving the Raptors' rally.
Sophomore guard Lauren Cavoli led the Green Terror with 17 points. Both junior forward Teya McConnaha and Beckett scored 15 points on their way to double-doubles. McConnaha had 13 rebounds and Beckett added 10 boards, while adding three and two blocked shots, respectively. Beckett also had a game-high eight assists.
Goodwine, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, paced the Scarlet Raptors with 17 points, while adding seven rebounds and team-high totals of four assists and four steals. Sophomore forward
Courtney Edmundo notched 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while Collier scored 12 points and El added eight.
McDaniel shot 21-for-57 from the floor (36.8 percent) and 7-for-11 (63.6) from the foul line, while also making eight of 26 three-point attempts (30.8). The Scarlet Raptors shot 18-for-58 (31.0) from the floor, including 2-for-14 (14.3) from three-point range. Then were 18-for-25 (72.0) from the foul line.
McDaniel held a 46-35 advantage off the boards.
