Raptors' Slusarski earns NJAC Baseball Player of the Week
CAMDEN, N.J. (March 2, 2026) – Sophomore
Jake Slusarski (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) has only been at Rutgers University-Camden for three games this season, but he already has earned recognition for his talents.
Slusarski was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week when the NJAC released its third weekly honors today.
Rutgers-Camden only played two games last week, splitting a doubleheader against Haverford College on Saturday, but Slusarski had a great day at the plate, going a combined 5-for-8 with one run and three RBIs.
Serving as the designated hitter in the opening game, Slusarski went 4-for-4, including a double, with two RBIs. He also reached base as a hit batsman and stole three bases in the game.
In the second game, playing right field, he went 1-for-4 with a triple and added a walk. He had one RBI and scored one run.
A transfer who played at Division I Mount St. Mary's University (Emmitsburg, Maryland) as a freshman, Slusarski leads the Scarlet Raptors in numerous categories through the first three games of the season, including batting average (.462), slugging (.692), on-base percentage (.533, first among all regulars in the lineup), hits (6), triples (1), stolen bases (3) and total bases (9), while tying for the team lead in doubles (1) and RBIs (4).
A Business Management major at Rutgers-Camden, he was a three-time All-Conference First Team player and an All-South Jersey Second Team star at Williamstown High School.
