CAMDEN, N.J. (March 7, 2026) – The Ursinus College baseball team collected 31 hits as it swept a doubleheader against Rutgers University-Camden, 16-4 and 8-5, here Saturday.
The wins lift Ursinus to 5-4, while Rutgers-Camden falls to 2-4.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action on Tuesday when they host Centenary University at 3:30 p.m.
Ursinus 16, Rutgers-Camden 4
The Bears collected 23 hits in the opening game as they exploded for 15 runs from the second through the fifth inning on their way to the win.
Rutgers-Camden took its only lead of the afternoon with a run in the first inning when junior second baseman
Austin Dubler hit a one-out single, stole second and scored on a two-out RBI single by sophomore first baseman
Ryan Joseph.
Ursinus took the lead for good with a five-run second inning, using four hits, a pair of walks and two wild pitches along the way. A two-run single by junior center fielder Brandon Sullivan gave the Bears a 2-1 lead and sophomore shortstop Matthew Callahan added a two-run double in the frame.
Freshman third baseman Brett Barrett went 5-for-6 with two runs and two RBIs for Ursinus, while Callahan was 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Senior first baseman Shane Beaver went 4-for-6 with one run and three RBIs.

Matt McAleer, who started in left field and later moved to center, led the 11-hit Scarlet Raptor attack, going 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Sophomore right fielder
Gavin McCaffrey went 2-for-3 with one run, while Dubler was 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Sophomore designated hitter
Jake Slusarski hit a solo home run in the third inning.

Danny Torres Jr. (0-2) took the loss, while senior Max Shilstone (1-0) picked up the win in long relief for the Bears.

The Bears scored single runs in the second and third innings before Rutgers-Camden cut its deficit to 2-1 in the bottom of the third on a double by junior center fielder
Jacob Watson and an RBI single by Dubler.
The teams matched two-run innings in the fifth, with the Raptors scoring on an RBI single by Dubler and a two-out throwing error, making it a 4-3 game. Ursinus, however, produced two-run innings in the eighth and ninth innings before the Scarlet Raptors closed out the scoring on Slusarski's two-run double in the ninth inning.

Austin Wokock (1-1) took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in 4.2 innings. Ursinus junior Barritt Ross (1-1) picked up the win with 4.1 innings in relief.
Sophomore right fielder Isaac Gesford went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for the Bears, while sophomore left fielder Luke Kopec was 2-for-4 with one run scored.
Dubler went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs for the Scarlet Raptors as he finished the day going 6-for-9 with three runs and three RBIs. Slusarski went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Watson was 2-for-4 with three runs.
