Gabby, Bella Albert earn NJAC weekly tennis honors
GALLOWAY, N.J. (April 14, 2026) –
Gabby Albert and
Bella Albert have played a major role in the 10-3 start for the Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team this season, and the two freshmen sisters (Greenwich, NJ/Cumberland Regional) helped the Scarlet Raptors open their New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule with a pair of wins Friday and Saturday.
As a result, both sisters earned honors when the weekly NJAC awards were announced today.
Gabby Albert, the Raptors top singles player, was named the NJAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, while
Bella Albert, the fourth singles player, captured honors as the NJAC Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week.
Both players combine to form the Scarlet Raptors' top doubles team and they posted a 6-1 win at William Paterson University on Friday and a 6-1 victory at Stockton University on Saturday.
Gabby Albert won her two matches at first singles, beating Paterson, 6-1, 6-1, and topping Stockton, 6-3, 6-0.
Bella Albert also won both of her matches at fourth singles with 6-0, 6-0 victories over both Paterson and Stockton.
In dual match play this scholastic year,
Bella Albert owns a 12-1 mark at fourth singles and
Gabby Albert is 9-4 at first singles. The duo has combined for a dual match mark of 9-3 at the top doubles spot.
The Scarlet Raptors return to NJAC play on Friday with a 4:30 p.m. match at Kean University.
