Bella Albert captures final NJAC Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week this year
CAMDEN, N.J. (April 28, 2026) – Freshman
Bella Albert has been one of the key cogs on the Rutgers-Camden women's tennis team this year, helping the Scarlet Raptors reach the New Jersey Athletic Conference championship match for the first time.
The freshman from Greenwich, New Jersey, and Cumberland Regional High School has received several honors along the way and on Tuesday the NJAC named her the Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week for the second time this season in the final weekly conference awards for the 2025-26 scholastic year.
Bella, who teams with her twin sister
Gabby Albert as the Raptors' top doubles team and serves as Rutgers-Camden's fourth singles player, also was named NJAC Rookie of the Week on April 14.
During the NJAC playoffs last week, Bella and Gabby captured their doubles match against Kean University, 6-2, in the conference semifinals, while Bella also won her match at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-1. Those two wins helped the Raptors advance past the conference semifinals for the first time, earning a 4-0 victory and advancing them to a berth in Saturday's NJAC final against perennial champion The College of New Jersey.
TCNJ won the title, 4-0, with Bella and Gabby losing at first doubles, 6-1. but the match was already decided before Bella had a chance to play at fourth singles.
In addition to her two NJAC Rookie of the Week honors,
Bella Albert also teamed with her sister Gabby to capture a berth on the All-NJAC Doubles Team.
During the 2025-26 scholastic year, Bella posted a 14-2 record in dual match singles competition, including 12-2 at fourth singles and 2-0 at the third flight. She also went 2-1 at fourth singles in the King's College Invitational on September 7, giving her an overall singles mark of 16-3 for the year. In doubles play, Bella went 11-6 overall, including the King's College Invitational, giving her 27 wins in her freshman season.
Her 16 singles victories and 27 overall victories tied the program's single-season records.
