FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (April 7, 2026) – The Farmingdale State baseball team built a 3-0 lead through seven innings and hung on to edge Rutgers University-Camden, 3-2, here Tuesday in a non-conference game.
The loss snapped the Scarlet Raptors' four-game winning streak, dropping their record to 14-11 as they head into a big four-game weekend against New Jersey Athletic Conference foes Rowan University and Ramapo College.
Farmingdale State snapped a four-game losing streak to improve to 7-9.
The Rams scored single runs in the first, fifth and seventh innings, one run apiece off the first three of the four Raptor pitchers in the game. In the first inning, senior first baseman Dom LaFroscia singled home the run. In the fifth, senior left fielder Mike Kocovic tripled and scored on a ground out by senior right fielder Richie Heyder. The seventh inning run came when Wasserman singled and scored on a triple by Heyder.

Farmingdale State senior Derek Watts worked the last two innings to earn his first save of the season, allowing no hits or walks, while striking out two. Senior TJ Cox (2-0) earned the win with 4.2 innings of shutout ball in relief of junior starter Thomas O'Neill.

Killian McCaffrey (0-2) worked the first two innings, allowing three hits and one earned run. He didn't walk any batters and struck out two.
Wasserman had two hits for the Rams, while five Farmingdale State pitchers held the Scarlet Raptors to four hits. Sophomore first baseman

Rutgers-Camden returns to New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Thursday when it hosts nationally-ranked Rowan University at 3:30 p.m. in a battle of the NJAC's top two teams. The Profs are ranked sixth in the current D3baseball.com Top 25 poll and eighth in the NCAA Div. III Baseball Coaches poll.
The Scarlet Raptors lead the conference with a 6-0 NJAC mark, while the Profs are right behind them with a mark of 5-1 in the NJAC.
