CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – At Day Two of the DeSales University Invitational, the Rutgers-Camden women's volleyball team split its two matches to improve to 3-1 on the season.
In the opener, the Scarlet Raptors defeated Penn College 3-0 before dropping its first contest of the year by a 3-0 count to the host Bulldogs.
Match 1 – Rutgers-Camden 3, Penn College 0
Set scores in the opening match were 25-13, 25-18, and 25-13. RUC hit a blistering .335 in the first set (15-4-31) on its way to finishing with a hitting percentage of .242 in the win.
Gabby Gbolahan had eight kills in the win, with Sofia Granieri netting seven and Asha Pensa Johnson getting six.
Lori Kunicki had three aces, with Madison Snelgrove getting two.
JoAnna Andrews had 19 assists, with Mia Owens having 13 digs defensively.
Match 2 – DeSales 3, Rutgers-Camden 0
Set scores in the nightcap were 25-23, 25-19, and 25-16.
Gbolahan had six kills, while Taylor White had five in the loss, with Cassie Guim getting nine assists.
Nissi Wadieh had two blocks, with Owens having 19 digs.
Rutgers-Camden heads to Delaware State University on Tuesday, followed by a home match on Wednesday against Medgar Evers.
