Biography

Ray El-Khoury has been a defensive anchor during his three-year career with the Scarlet Raptors. A big, strong back, he has appeared in 57 career games at Rutgers-Camden, starting 18. He has helped the Raptors reach three New Jersey Athletic Conference championship games, winning two of them, has contributed to a national finalist team (the 23-1-2 squad from 2013) and has played on the 2014 team that won the ECAC Division III Metro/Upstate Men’s Soccer Championship title.
 
El-Khoury owns one career goal and one assist for three points, while contributing to 27 of the Raptors’ 31 shutouts over the past three seasons.
 
El-Khoury also earned NJAC Academic Honorable Mention during his sophomore and junior years.1531
 
Soccer 2014: Played in 20 games, starting 10…Took 12 shots…Played in six of the team’s eight shutouts, starting two of them…Helped Raptors win the 2014 Cialella Soccer Classic title by starting the 4-0 championship game victory over Susquehanna University (Sept. 7)…Played all 90 minutes against Lynchburg College (Sept. 13, a 3-0 loss) and William Paterson University (Sept. 24, a 3-1 win)…Contributed to the Raptors’ 2-1 victory over Sage Colleges (Nov. 12) in the opening round of the ECAC Metro/Upstate tournament… NJAC Academic Honorable Mention.
 
Soccer 2013: Played in 17 games, making six starts…took six shots…Played in 10 of the Raptors’ program record-tying 12 shutouts…Started two of those games, a 2-0 victory over Cabrini College (Sept. 4) and a 5-0 win over New Jersey City University (Oct. 30)…Raptors posted a 15-0-2 record in El-Khoury’s 17 games…Started the first three contests of the season against Muhlenberg College (Aug. 30), DeSales University (Aug. 31) and Cabrini…Played the entire 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over Muhlenberg…Also started consecutive wins over Ramapo College (Oct. 26), New Jersey City University (Oct. 30) and The College of New Jersey (Nov. 6 in the NJAC semifinals)…Final game of the season came in a 4-0 win over Lycoming College (Nov. 17) in the Scarlet Raptors’ first tournament victory of their run to the NCAA Division III championship game… NJAC Academic Honorable Mention.
 
1533Soccer 2012: Made two starts among his 20 games and played in all 11 shutouts for the Scarlet Raptors…Took three shots, scored one goal and added one assist for three points…Made his collegiate debut in a 3-0 victory over Wesley College (Sept. 2) to help the Raptors win the weather-shortened Blue Jay Classic at Johns Hopkins University…Made his first career start in a 1-0 victory over conference rival William Paterson University (Oct. 6)…Also started a 2-2 tie against Richard Stockton College (Oct. 10)…Notched the game-winning goal at 44:32 with a header off a Grant Taylor feed, breaking a 1-1 tie and leading Rutgers-Camden over Haverford College (Oct. 17)…That game, along with his role in a 3-1 victory over NJAC foe Ramapo College (Oct. 20), helped El-Khoury earn honors as the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 22.
 
High School: Earned four varsity soccer letters at Cranford High School playing for Coach Mike Curci…All-Conference…All-County…All-State Honorable Mention…Won conference three out of four years and won the first county title for Cranford High School.
 
Personal: Born October 16, 1992…Played club soccer for FC Copa Forza, coached by Robert Aguas, winning both State Cups  (NJYS, US Club) and Regionals…National finalists…Hobbies include playing FIFA…Dual Accounting and Finance majors at Rutgers-Camden…Dean’s List student…Plans to work for a law firm…Ray is the son of Barbara El-Khoury of Cranford.
