Derek Shearer has been a part of an amazing three-year run during his collegiate career at Rutgers-Camden, helping the Scarlet Raptors reach three New Jersey Athletic Conference championship games (winning two), two NCAA tournament berths, advance to the national championship game in 2013 and win the 2014 ECAC Div. III Metro/Upstate title.

Returning for his fourth season, Shearer has played in 42 games as a Scarlet Raptor.

Soccer 2014: Appeared in 17 games, starting eight as an outside back…Took two shots…Played in seven of the Scarlet Raptors’ eight shutouts, starting three…Made first start of the season in a 2-1 victory against Drew University (Sept. 6) at the Cialella Soccer Classic…Played in a 4-0 win over Susquehanna University the next day as Rutgers-Camden won the Cialella title…Scarlet Raptors posted a 13-3-1 record in the games he played…Helped Rutgers-Camden post a 1-0 win over William Paterson University (Nov. 1) in the opening round of the NJAC playoffs…Contributed to a 2-1 victory over Sage Colleges (Nov. 12) and a 1-0 win over New York University (Nov. 15) in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the ECAC Metro/Upstate tournament.

Soccer 2013: Played in 12 games, making one start…Appeared in seven of the Raptors’ program record-tying 12 shutouts…Made his lone start of the year and played a season-high 49 minutes in a 2-0 victory over Cairn University (Oct. 22)…Took his only shot of the season during a 5-0 win over New Jersey City University (Oct. 30)…Helped the Raptors to their first NCAA tournament win of the season, playing 18 minutes in a 4-0 victory over Lycoming College (Nov. 17)…Helped team win its third consecutive New Jersey Athletic Conference title and post a program-record 23-1-2 campaign on the way to reaching the NCAA Division III championship game.

Soccer 2012: Played in 13 games, taking one shot…Contributed to six of the Scarlet Raptors’ 11 shutouts and helped club post a 17-2-3 record and win its second straight New Jersey Athletic Conference championship…Made collegiate debut in a 3-0 win over Wesley College (Sept. 2) at the Blue Jay Classic at Johns Hopkins University…Also played in the next three contests to help the Raptors open the season with four straight shutouts: 4-0 over Cabrini College (Sept. 5), 5-0 over St. Joseph’s College-Long Island (Sept. 8) and 3-0 over Arcadia University (Sept. 9)…Saw playing time in two other shutouts, coming against Cairn University (3-0, Oct. 1) and New Jersey City University (5-0, Oct. 24)…Helped Raptors earn a 3-1 victory in the NJAC semifinals against Rutgers-Newark (Nov. 2).
