Juan Rojas has proven to be a valuable spark off the bench during his two seasons with the Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer program. Rojas has played in 39 games, scoring three goals – two game winners – and adding two assists for the Scarlet Raptors. His contributions during his freshman year in 2013 played a key role in helping the Scarlet Raptors capture the New Jersey Athletic Conference championship and advance all the way to the first NCAA Division III championship game in program history.
Soccer 2014: Played in 21 games, starting five…Collected one game-winning goal and added two assists for four points…Took 11 shots, four on goal…Started the Scarlet Raptors’ season opener against Franklin & Marshall College (Aug. 29), taking one shot on goal in a 1-0 defeat…Started and notched his first points of the season, scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Drew University (Sept. 6) in the Raptors’ opening game of the Cialella Soccer Classic…Added an assist the next day as the Raptors won the Cialella title with a 4-0 victory over Susquehanna University, feeding Jacob Kwami for the final goal of the game…Assisted on Mike Ryan’s game-winning goal, snapping a 1-1 tie and lifting the Raptors to a 3-1 victory over Rutgers-Newark in the NJAC semifinals (Nov. 4).
Soccer 2013: Played in 18 games, starting three…Scored two goals for four points…Took 12 shots, five on goal…His first collegiate goal proved to be the game winner in a 2-0 victory over Cabrini College (Sept. 4), tucking a shot inside the right post at 38:35 following a flurry of activity near the goal mouth…Headed home a corner kick from Connor Hurff to score a goal in the Raptors’ NCAA tournament opener, a 4-0 Second Round win over Lycoming College (Nov. 17)…Played 29 minutes and tied his own season high of two shots (one on goal) in a 3-2 overtime victory against Loras College (Dec. 6) in the NCAA semifinals…Made his three starts in consecutive games against Manhattanville College (Sept. 18, a 1-0 win), Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 21, 4-3) and Rowan University (Sept. 25, 1-0).
High School: Piscataway High School graduate in 2013…Two years of Honors English (junior and senior years).
