Biography

As he heads into his fourth and final season at Rutgers-Camden, James Brett already has placed his name among the great goalkeepers in program history. In 68 career games (67 starts), Brett ranks second on the program’s all-time charts with 6,017:50 minutes in goal, 950 shots faced and 10 ties. He is fourth in saves (349) and wins (32), fifth in goals-against average (1.26) for all keepers with the NCAA minimum of 2500 minutes played, and seventh in save percentage (.806). He is within shouting range of moving into the career Top 10 in games played.

Brett appears three times among the program’s Top 10 single-season leaders in both goalie minutes and shots faced.

For the third straight season, Brett earned a berth on the All-New Jersey Athletic Conference team when he captured NJAC Second Team honors as a junior. During his sophomore year, he was named to the NJAC First Team and captured NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year honors, while he captured NJAC Honorable Mention as a freshman.

Brett also has served on the Rutgers-Camden Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 scholastic years.
