Multi-talented Andrew Biggs helped the Rutgers-Camden baseball team in a number of areas during his first season on campus in 2016. In addition to making seven appearances on the mound, including five starts, he saw action in the outfield, at designated hitter, as a pinch-hitter and a pinch-runner.

A transfer who played two years at Gloucester County College/Rowan College at Gloucester County, Biggs enters his final season of collegiate eligibility this spring.

Baseball 2016: Played in 14 games overall, including seven appearances and five starts on the mound…Worked 35.2 innings, allowing 38 hits, 12 walks and four hit batsmen, while striking out 17…Posted a 1-2 record with a 4.54 ERA…Went 1-for-8 (.125) at the plate, with one double, three runs and two RBIs…Defensively, had eight putouts, five assists and one error for a .929 fielding percentage…Made his Raptor debut as a pitcher/designated hitter against Penn State-Abington (March 2), working one inning on the mound, allowing two hits and one earned run while picking up his first Rutgers-Camden strikeout…Also scored a run in that game…In a wild 22-20 loss to defending national champion Cortland State (March 14), worked one inning in relief, allowing one hit, three walks, one hit batsman and four earned runs, while striking out one…Lowered his ERA in every game the rest of the season, beginning with his first Raptor start against No. 10/13 Wisconsin-Stevens Point (March 18)…In that game he worked 7.2 innings, allowing eight hits, no walks and four runs (only three earned), while striking out nine in an eventual Raptor 5-4 victory…Picked up his first Rutgers-Camden hit with a two-run pinch-hit double in the eighth inning of a win over Johns Hopkins University (March 26)…Took the loss, his first Raptor decision, in a start against FDU-Florham (March 30), working five innings and allowing five hits, five walks and four runs (three earned), while striking out one…Worked seven innings of 10-hit ball, walking one and striking out three, while allowing four earned runs in taking the loss at Neumann University (April 5)…Earned his first Rutgers-Camden win with a stellar effort in an 11-1 victory over New Jersey City University (April 23), working eight innings of five-hit ball, walking one, striking out one and allowing only one unearned run.

Pre-Rutgers: Played for the GCC/RCGC Roadrunners in both 2014 and 2015…As a freshman, made nine appearances on the mound and posted a 5-3 record, a 3.27 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 44 innings…Hurled three complete games and two shutouts…Walked 26 and allowed 38 hits…During his sophomore season, went 7-2 in 12 appearances (nine starts), notching a 3.56 ERA, two complete games and 58 strikeouts in 55.2 innings…Walked 22 and allowed 59 hits…Over his two-year Roadrunner career, he went 12-5 with a 3.43 ERA in 99.2 innings, walking 48 and striking out 105…Pitched in 21 games, starting nine and completing five…Named Third Team All-Region during his sophomore season with the Roadrunners…Also has briefly attended Delaware State University (Fall 2012) and Wilmington University (Fall 2015).

Philadelphia Inquirer as a senior in 2012, posting a 6-3 record with a 0.58 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 65.2 innings…Two-time newspaper Player of the Year…Honor Roll student in 2011 and 2012. Graduated in 2012.
