Caroline Santiago made the jump from Cumberland County College to Rutgers-Camden last season and after a transition period became one of the Scarlet Raptors’ most effective and consistent players during the second half of the season. After averaging 4.7 points and 6.7 rebounds through her first seven games, Santiago averaged 10.4 points and 10.2 boards in her last 14 contests for the Scarlet Raptors.Â

In her combined collegiate career at Cumberland County College (50 games) and Rutgers-Camden (21 games), she has produced 718 points and 666 rebounds for averages of 10.1 and 9.4, respectively.

Santiago also was named to the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2016 spring semester.

Basketball 2015-16: Played in 21 games, starting 18 for the Scarlet Raptors…Finished second on the team in rebounding (9.1 rpg) and fifth in scoring (8.5 ppg)…Added 24 steals, 19 assists and two blocked shots…Her 191 rebounds included 95 off the offensive boards and 96 off the defensive boards…Shot 71-for-159 (.447) from the floor, the best field goal percentage on the team…Shot 37-for-67 (.552) from the foul line…Named Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on Feb. 15…Made her Rutgers-Camden debut with a start against Bryn Mawr (Nov. 18), collecting eight points, nine rebounds, three steals and two assists…Had 11 rebounds at The College of New Jersey (Nov. 24) in her third game as a Raptor…Started her mid-season surge at Rutgers-Newark (Jan. 6) with the first of her six double-doubles, netting 12 points and adding 11 rebounds…Five days later had her Raptor career high of 19 points and added 13 rebounds for a double-double against Cairn University (Jan. 11)…Tied her Raptor high of 19 points, while adding 11 rebounds at Rowan University (Jan. 27)…Had a double-double against Stockton University (Feb. 3) with 13 points and her Rutgers-Camden career high of 17 rebounds…One week later, against Rutgers-Newark again, had a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds…Notched her final double-double in the ECAC tournament against the College of Staten Island (March 5), collecting 15 points and 15 rebounds, while adding her career high of three assists.

Pre-Rutgers: Played two seasons at Cumberland County College, including the 2014-15 campaign in which she helped the Dukes capture their first Region 19 championship in program history and reach the NJCAA National Tournament…Earned a berth on the All-Tournament Team at the NJCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship…Captured First Team Conference and First Team Region 19 honors…In the Region 19 championship game, she had 12 points and a game-high 22 rebounds to lead Cumberland over Middlesex, 74-62…In the third-place game at the national tournament, she had 15 points and 16 rebounds in a loss to Mohawk Valley Community College…For the season, Santiago averaged 15.7 points and 13.7 rebounds while starting all 28 games for the Dukes…Finished seventh nationally in Division III rebounding (13.7 rpg) and 22nd in field goal percentage (.519)…During her freshman season, she played in 22 games, starting two and averaging 4.5 points and 4.1 rebounds…For her two-year Cumberland career, she played in 50 games, starting 30, scored 539 points (10.8 ppg), grabbed 475 rebounds (9.5 rpg) and added 30 steals, eight assists and seven blocked shots.
