Rutgers-Camden Athletics

A big right-handed pitcher who transferred to Rutgers-Camden from Alvernia University, Paul Haynes appeared in one game for the Scarlet Raptors during both the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
 
A stellar student, he was a member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2016 semester and added another berth on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Fall 2016 semester.
 
Baseball 2016: Appeared in one game as a pinch-hitter, drawing a walk against Stockton University (April 15).
 
Baseball 2015: Hurled one inning of relief at Johns Hopkins University (March 25)…Allowed two hits and no runs, while striking out two batters…Compiled a 0-0 record and a 0.00 ERA…After allowing two singles to open the ninth inning, retired the next three batters, including the final two on strikes, to close out the Raptors’ 11-2 victory…Collected one assist to post a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Appeared in two games for Alvernia University in 2014…Worked one-third of an inning in his collegiate debut against Haverford College, April 9, allowing three hits, three runs (two earned) and one walk, while striking out one…Hurled a hitless shutout inning against Messiah College (April 30)…Overall, worked 1.1 innings and posted a 13.53 ERA.
 
High School: Earned two varsity baseball letters at Triton Regional High School for Coach Frank Marciano.
 
Personal: Born August 2, 1995…Hurled an amazing 10-inning, 28-strikeout no-hitter in the South Jersey Men’s Senior Baseball League (June 7, 2015), leading the Hungry Hippos over the Williamstown Whalers…Struck out the first 25 batters of the game and also struck out the side in the 10th inning…Superstition is to wear a Superman shirt under his jersey…Business Management major at Rutgers-Camden…Plans to own his own business…Paul is the son of Paul Haynes and Gladys Negron of Blackwood.
