Biography

Speedy forward Julian Light was off to an impressive start in his collegiate career when he was lost for the season with an injury after seven games. With his freshman eligibility restored, Light returns for the 2014 season.
 
Soccer 2013: Played in the Scarlet Raptors’ first seven games, starting two, before being sidelined with an injury…Collected two assists and made 14 shots…Made his collegiate debut with a start against Muhlenberg College (Aug. 30), contributing to a 2-1 win…Notched an assist in both games of the Raptors’ own Cialella Soccer Classic (Sept. 7-8), helping spark 5-0 wins over both Eastern Mennonite University and Arcadia University…Against Eastern Mennonite, his first collegiate assist came on Mike Ryan’s second goal of the game, giving the Raptors a 2-0 lead…Against Arcadia, he assisted on Eric Cutry’s game-winning goal, breaking a scoreless deadlock only 15 seconds before halftime…Had a season-high four shots against Eastern Mennonite and three shots in his other start, a 5-0 victory over Eastern University (Sept. 11).
 
High School: Four-year soccer letterwinner for Coach Bruno Somma at Governor Livingston High School…Athletic Honors Society…All-Union County First Team…Newark Star-Ledger All-State Third Team.
 
Personal: Born December 28, 1994…Played club soccer for Jersey United, helping his team win the 2013 State Cup championship……Hobbies include Futsal…Marketing major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to work for a professional sports club…Julian is the son of Patrice and Terence Light of Berkeley Heights.
