Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Brian Palangi capped his brilliant junior college soccer career in 2016 when he was named the NJCAA Division III Player of the Year. After transferring to Rutgers-Camden, he made an immediate impact with the Scarlet Raptors in 2017, earning all-tournament team honors while leading his club to the title game of the ECAC Division III Men’s Soccer Championship. 
 
During his combined three-year collegiate career with Rowan College at Gloucester County and the Scarlet Raptors, Palangi has appeared in 48 games, starting 40. He owns five goals (two game winners) and six assists for 16 points.
 
Palangi will serve as one of the Scarlet Raptors’ four captains this season.

Soccer 2017: Appeared in 15 games, starting eight…Named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team (Nov. 18-19) after leading the Scarlet Raptors to the championship game…Collected three goals and added one assist for seven points…Notched one game-winning goal…Took six shots, five of them on goal for an .833 percentage…Helped the Raptor defense post one shutout and hold opponents to one goal in eight other games he played…Started his first six games at Rutgers-Camden, including the season opener against Lycoming College (Sept. 1)…Started and scored his first Raptor goal in a 2-1 win at Swarthmore College (Oct. 16)…Headed in the eventual game-winning goal as the Scarlet Raptors edged Maritime College, 2-1, in the first game of the ECAC Division III Men’s Soccer Championship (Nov. 11)…In the ECAC title game, a 3-2 loss against host Lebanon Valley College (Nov. 19) on a rain-soaked field, Palangi collected one goal and one assist for three points, while playing his season high of 71 minutes…That performance helped him earn a berth on the ECAC All-Tournament Team.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Started 32 of his 33 career games with RCGC…NJCAA Division III Player of the Year and First Team All-American in 2016…Collected two goals (one game winner) and five assists for nine career points…Scored his lone goal as a freshman during a 7-0 win over Williamson Trade (Sept. 21, 2015)…Had one goal and five assists for seven points as a sophomore…His tally was the game-winning goal as the Roadrunners beat Raritan Valley, 2-0 (Oct. 8, 2016).
 
High School: Four-year soccer letterman at Deptford Township High School for Coach Kevin Sherry…Graduated in 2013.
