Biography

Alex Gravinese compiled a record-setting junior season on her way to earning team Most Valuable Player honors and all-conference academic recognition. A transfer who played her first season of collegiate basketball at Rosemont College, Gravinese will earn her third letter at Rutgers-Camden this winter.1617
 
With 99 career three-pointers in 338 attempts, Gravinese is approaching the Rutgers-Camden program records for career treys (147) and attempts (488). She enters this season with 403 career points as a Scarlet Raptor and 563 points in her combined career at Rutgers-Camden and Rosemont.
 
Basketball 2013-14: Played in 22 games, starting 20…Led the team in scoring (11.5 ppg) and assists (48)…Averaged 3.6 rebounds…Tied for second on the team with 19 steals and added one blocked shot…Served as a team tri-captain…Named the Scarlet Raptors’ MVP…Tied the single-season program record with 66 three-pointers…Set a program single-season mark with 212 three-point attempts…Named New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention…Led the NJAC in minutes played per game (37.2) and three-pointers per game (3.0)…Seventh in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.311) and 16th in scoring (11.5 ppg)…Honored as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on both Jan. 20 and Feb. 24…The second honor came after she collected a career-high 26 points and set a single-game program record with eight three-pointers (in 14 attempts) against the College of Staten Island (Feb. 17)…She added eight rebounds and tied her career high of six assists in that contest…Scored in double figures in 11 of her 22 games, including a 20-point effort against William Paterson University (Jan. 18) in which she shot 5-for-11 from three-point range and 5-for-7 from the foul line…Notched a career high of nine rebounds, while scoring 15 points, in a win over John Jay College (Jan. 20)…Set her career high of six assists against The College of New Jersey (Dec. 7) before tying that mark in back-to-back games over Staten Island (Feb. 17) and New Jersey City University (Feb. 19) to close the season…Collected 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and a career-high four steals against the United States Merchant Marine Academy (Dec. 20)…Notched 18 points, aided by 6-for-10 shooting from the floor (4-for-7 from three-point range), against Rutgers-Newark (Jan. 6)…Had a stretch of four straight games scoring in double figures from Jan. 13-20 with 14 points against Bryn Athyn, 16 against NJCU, 20 against William Paterson and 15 against John Jay…After her streak ended on Jan. 22, bounced back to scored 17 points against Ramapo College (Jan. 25)…Averaged 13.3 points in her last 12 games of the season.1618
 
Basketball 2012-13: Played in all 25 games, starting eight, in her first year on campus…Averaged 6.0 points and 1.9 rebounds…Was the Scarlet Raptors’ top three-point threat, hitting 33-for-126 from long range, the ninth-highest single-season total of treys in program history… Her 126 attempts from long range were the eighth-highest single-season total …Notched 26 assists and 21 steals…In her first game with the Raptors, set her Rutgers-Camden high with four assists and also added 16 points, aided by 4-for-5 three-point shooting, against Cairn University (Nov. 15)…Collected her Raptor career high of five rebounds, while adding six points, in her first start, coming against Richard Stockton College (Dec. 12)…Scored 13 points, helped by another 4-for-5 three-point performance, and added three assists, two rebounds and two steals against Old Westbury (Dec. 22)…Opened the new year with a 16-point performance against Mount Saint Vincent (Jan. 3), shooting 5-for-7 from the floor (including 3-for-5 from three-point range) and 3-for-3 from the foul line…Collected her career high of 17 points against New Jersey City University (Jan. 9), shooting 5-for-9 (4-for-8 on treys) from the floor and 3-for-4 from the charity stripe…Had 4-for-8 performances from three-point range on the way to a 12-point game against Rowan University (Jan. 23) and a 14-point game against Kean University (Feb. 2)…Overall scored in double figures on six occasions, had six games with two steals and collected two or more assists seven times.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played in 24 games, starting 22, at Rosemont College during the 2011-12 season…Finished third on the team in scoring (6.7 points per game) and averaged 2.6 rebounds…Led the team with 54 assists, finished fourth with 28 steals and added four blocked shots.
 
High School: Earned 12 varsity letters at Audubon High School, with four apiece in soccer, basketball and softball for Coaches Cheryl Clark, Bill Scully and Erin Small…Captured All-Colonial Conference honors in all three sports…Honored by the Courier-Post newspaper as an All-Group 2 softball player during her junior season and an All-Group 1 player as a senior…Colonial Conference Patriot Division female Scholar/Athlete honoree from Audubon High School as a senior.
