Biography
Kieran Burns established himself as the Scarlet Raptors’ starting goalie during his third season at Rutgers-Camden, playing 1,200:49 minutes out of the team’s 1,979:04 total. During his three years with the Scarlet Raptors, Burns has appeared in 22 games, starting 19 and posting a stellar 13-3-3 record. He has faced 221 shots, made 77 saves and allowed 20 goals in 1,766:37 career minutes. He owns a 1.02 goals-against average, seven shutouts and a .794 save percentage in his three seasons.

A Dean’s List student as well, Burns has earned numerous academic honors, including back-to-back all-conference academic accolades.

Soccer 2019: Started 14 games and played 1,200:49 out of the team’s 1,979:04 minutes in goal…Posted a 7-3-3 record and six shutouts…Faced 158 shots…Allowed 14 goals for a 1.05 goals-against average…Made 55 saves and notched a .797 save percentage…Earned a season-opening 1-0 shutout over Carthage (Aug. 30), making four saves…Played the first 10:45 and made one save while sharing a 1-0 shutout with Kyler White against Alvernia (Sept. 4)…Posted 2-0 shutouts against Immaculata (Sept. 18) and Montclair State (Sept. 21), making two and four saves, respectively…Collected six saves in a 3-2 win over Haverford (Sept. 25)…Faced 21 shots and had five saves during a 2-2 tie at Kean (Sept. 28)…Had two saves in 32:31 of playing time, but allowed one goal in a 2-0 loss at The College of New Jersey (Oct. 2) for his first collegiate defeat…Made four saves in a 2-0 loss at King’s College (Oct. 8)…Faced 21 shots, made five saves and allowed two goals in a 3-2 win at Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 12)…Collected four saves to blank Rowan (Oct. 17) by a 2-0 score…Made three saves in a 3-1 loss against Ramapo (Oct. 19)…Faced 16 shots and made a career-high nine saves in a 2-2 tie at William Paterson (Oct. 26)…Collected three saves in a 1-0 overtime win against Stockton (Oct. 30) in the Scarlet Raptors’ regular-season finale…Three days later, blanked Stockton for 110 minutes in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs, making three saves, but the contest finished in a 0-0 tie and the Ospreys advanced in the tournament on a penalty kick shootout…That game, along with the ties against Kean and Paterson, marked one of the three contests during the season in which he played the entire 110 minutes…Overall, he played the entire game in 12 of his 14 starts.

Soccer 2018: Appeared in four games, starting three…Posted a 4-0 record with a 0.57 goals-against average…Allowed two goals and made 12 saves, posting a .857 save percentage…Logged one shutout and contributed to another shutout…Made season debut starting and playing 81:56 minutes in a 2-0 Raptor win over Old Westbury (Sept. 1), facing three shots and not needing to make a save in the combined shutout…Played the full 90 minutes and logged his second win in a 2-1 victory over Misericordia (Sept. 18), facing 16 shots, allowing one goal and making five saves…Earned a shutout by facing nine shots and making six saves in a 2-0 win at Penn State-Abington (Oct. 4)…Played the final 53:31, allowing one goal and making one save, as he earned a 2-1 win over Lancaster Bible (Oct. 10).

High School: Captured three varsity soccer letters and three varsity baseball letters at Haddon Township High School…Named the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association’s Goalkeeper of the Year in 2016, when he led the Hawks to the Group 1 State Championship…Also earned First Team All-South Jersey and First Team All-State as a senior…Three-time All-Conference First Team goalie for Coach Jim Bonder (sophomore, junior and senior years)…Three-time team defensive MVP…Holds school record for most shutouts in a single season and a career…Third Team All-South Jersey as a junior.
