Biography


Juan Bahena earned the starting goalie job during his second season at Rutgers-Camden and went on to capture New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention. A Dean’s List student, he also has earned a pair of NJAC academic honors during his collegiate career.
 
In seven games, all starts, at Rutgers-Camden, Bahena owns a 3-3 record and a 1.35 goals-against average. He owns 28 career saves and a .757 save percentage.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2020-21 scholastic year…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Dean’s List student for the 2019 Fall, 2020 Spring and 2020 Fall semesters.
 
Soccer 2020: Captured New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention…Started and played all 90 minutes in five of the Scarlet Raptors’ seven games…Posted a 2-3 record and a 1.40 goals-against average…Faced 49 shots and made 20 saves…Posted one shutout and a .741 save percentage…Opened his season with a 2-0 shutout at New Jersey City (March 17), making two saves to give Tim Oswald his 200th career coaching victory at Rutgers-Camden…Had five saves in a  1-0 loss at Stockton (March 20)…Faced a season-high 13 shots and made four saves in a 2-0 loss at Montclair State (April 1)…Faced nine shots and made five saves to beat Stockton, 2-1, in the NJAC quarterfinals (April 7)…Lost in the NJAC semifinals against Montclair State, 3-1 on April 10, facing 12 shots and making four saves.
 
Soccer 2019: Started in two games in the Scarlet Raptors’ goal…Posted a 1-0 record and a 1.18 goals-against average…Earned a shutout in his first collegiate appearance, playing a full 90 minutes, facing 15 shots and making five saves in a 2-0 win at New Jersey City University (Oct. 5)…Also played 61:54 against Penn State-Abington (Oct. 23), making three saves and allowing two goals in the Raptors’ eventual 3-2 victory.
 
High School: Earned three varsity letters at William Penn High School, playing for Coach Jason Land…All-Conference Second Team as a sophomore…All-Conference First Team and All-State Third Team as a junior…All-Conference First Team and All-State First Team as a senior Honor Roll student all four years…Named English Student of the Year as a junior…As a senior, earned both Calculus Student of the Year and World History Student of the Year…Graduated in 2019.
