A transfer from Hampton University, Keysean Simmons was a junior academically but had sophomore basketball eligibility during the 2019-20 season at Rutgers-Camden. Simmons started 15 of his 24 games as a newcomer to the Scarlet Raptors’ program, finishing among the team leaders in numerous categories.

Basketball 2019-20: Played in 24 or the Scarlet Raptors’ 25 games, starting 15…Finished fifth on the club in scoring (6.3 ppg), placed second on the Raptors in assists (49) and finished third in steals (31)…Added one blocked shot and a 2.2 rebounding average…Shot .704 (38-for-54) from the foul line, the second-highest free throw percentage on the team for anyone with 15 or more attempts…Fifth on the team in three-point field goals (14)…After coming off the bench in his first nine games, started all 15 of his contests the rest of the season…Made his collegiate debut at Arcadia (Nov. 9) in the season opener, scoring 12 points in 22 minutes, while adding one rebound, one assist and one steal…Made his first start at Gwynedd Mercy (Jan. 6) and collected 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals…Had 10 points in his next game on Jan. 8 against Ramapo, adding two assists, two rebounds and one steal…Collected 10 points, three assists, his first blocked shot and set his season high of four assists at Montclair State (Jan. 15), a total of assists that he tied on three other occasions against Rowan (Jan. 22), Kean (Feb. 1) and Ramapo (Feb. 12)…Also set his season high of four steals in the Feb. 12 Ramapo game…Collected a season-high 17 points and seven rebounds against Rowan on Jan. 22, in addition to one steal and his four assists…Notched 12 points and added four rebounds and three assists at Stockton (Jan. 29)…Overall, had 10 games with three or more assists and six games scoring in double figures.
