Biography

The Scarlet Raptors’ starting goalie for all four of her collegiate seasons, Brittany Watson set program career records for shots faced (1,085), saves (328) and goalie save percentage (.384). In 35 career games, she compiled a 17.06 goals-against average, allowed 527 goals and posted a 6-26 record.
 
Watson also collected 78 ground balls during her career, ranking 10th on the program’s all-time list.
 
In addition to her talents on the lacrosse field, Watson has earned numerous academic honors.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention, 2018-19 scholastic year; Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2017 Fall, 2018 Spring and 2018 Fall semesters.
 
Lacrosse 2021: Started all five games during the pandemic-shortened season, splitting the game in goal with Gina Bellon…Posted a 0-4 record, a 22.90 goals-against average and 27 saves…Faced 95 shots…Finished third on the team with six ground balls…Added one caused turnover...Faced a season-high 26 shots and made her high of 10 saves during a loss to Montclair State (April 21)…Faced 24 shots and had eight saves against Stockton (April 24), while adding her lone caused turnover of the season…Collected four ground balls against The College of New Jersey (April 17).
 
Lacrosse 2020: Started both Raptor games and played all 120 minutes in goal…Had 18 saves, a .310 save percentage and an 0-2 record, while facing 64 shots and allowing 40 goals for a 20.0 goals-against average…In the season opener against Manhattanville, faced 28 shots and made seven saves…In a loss at Bryn Mawr, faced 36 shots and made 11 saves, helping her hike her career total to a new program record with 301 saves…Added two ground balls in each game.
 
Lacrosse 2019: Started all 15 games, playing all 898:21 in goal…Set single-season program records with 170 saves and 523 shots faced…Allowed 236 goals and posted a single-season program mark with a .419 save percentage…Established the program’s three highest single-game marks for shots faced with 51 against Stockton (April 18), 50 against Manhattanville (March 30) and 49 against Ramapo (April 27)…Also had 44 shots faced against Gwynedd Mercy on March 19 (tied for the sixth-highest single-game mark) and 42 against Immaculata on April 16 (tied for the ninth-highest mark)…Notched 15 saves of more on six occasions in 2019, including the two highest single-game marks of 20 (against Manhattanville, March 30) and 19 (against Ramapo, April 27)…Posted victories in her first three games of the season, marking the first time in program history Rutgers-Camden has ever won its opening three games…Notched six saves and a .400 save percentage in a season-opening 20-9 win over Penn State-Abington (March 14)…Had six saves and a .429 save percentage the next day in a 19-7 win over SUNY-Purchase…Collected 15 saves and a .466 save percentage in a 20-15 win over Gwynedd Mercy (March 19)…Had four saves and a .463 save percentage in a 15-5 win over Rosemont (April 4)…Collected her season high with a .496 save percentage while making a program-record 20 saves in a 17-12 loss at Manhattanville (March 30).
 
Lacrosse 2018: Played in all 13 games, starting 10 in goal and recording 688:24 minutes…Allowed 195 goals for a 17.00 goals-against average…Faced 403 shots, the fourth-highest single-season total in program history…Made 113 saves for the fourth-highest season total…Her .367 save percentage was the fifth-highest season mark…Posted a 2-9 record…Led the team with 44 ground balls, the fifth-highest season mark in program history…Earned a win in her first collegiate game, defeating Gwynedd Mercy University, 16-15, on March 10…Faced 37 shots and allowed 15 goals, while making 12 saves…Earned her second career win in a 16-14 victory over Penn State-Abington (March 19), playing 43:49 in goal and allowing eight goals, facing 19 shots and making seven saves…Suffered her first collegiate loss in a 20-10 decision against Manhattanville (April 4), while facing a program single-game record of 48 shots…Made 14 saves in that game, the fifth-highest single-game total in program history…Made 13 saves while facing 38 shots in a 16-11 loss against Ramapo College (April 28)…Overall, faced 31 or more shots in seven games…Made double-digit saves on six occasions...Notched her high of eight ground balls against Ramapo College and Immaculata University (April 23)…Added six ground balls against Penn State-Abington.
