Biography

An All-New Jersey Athletic Conference performer on the court and in the classroom, Isabella Choice completed her stellar Rutgers-Camden career ranking among the program’s all-time leaders in blocks (240, third), hitting percentage (.266, fourth), kills per set (2.31, seventh), total kills (772, eighth), attacks (1,837, 11th) and aces (109, 13th).
 
Choice played in 334 sets over 94 matches, was a two-time All-NJAC player and a three-time NJAC academic honoree.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 scholastic years…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2020 Fall, 2021 Fall, 2022 Spring and 2023 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student…One of only 21 athletes on the 106-member 2023 Spring AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA.
 
Volleyball 2023: Earned New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention…Named the Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week Sept. 25…Played in 99 sets over 27 matches…Led the team with 79 blocks (19 solo, 60 assisted)…Finished third on the team in both kills (207) and aces (35)…Added 44 digs and six assists…Second on the team with a .259 hitting percentage…Collected double-digit kills in nine matches, with a high of 15 against Hunter (Sept. 5)…Added 13 kills against Wilkes (Oct. 28)…Had a high of seven service aces against Penn State-Schuylkill (Oct. 23) and notched five aces against both Hunter (Sept. 5) and Washington College (Sept. 23)…Collected four or more blocks on 11 occasions, with a high of eight (all assisted) against Wilks (Oct. 28)…Also added seven blocks against both Rowan (Sept. 19, all assisted) and Washington (Sept. 23, one solo and six assisted)…Had her high of three solo blocks against Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 10), while also adding two block assists for five total blocks…Notched her high of seven digs against Penn State-Harrisburg (Sept. 16) and added six digs against William Paterson (Sept. 26)…Had her high of two assists in back-to-back matches against DeSales and Clarkson, both on Sept. 2.
 
Volleyball 2022: Captured New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team honors…Two-time Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week (Oct. 17 and Oct. 24)…Competed in all 29 matches and 105 sets played by Rutgers-Camden…Led the team with 279 kills and 2.66 kills per set…Led the team with 74 blocks (24 solo, 50 assisted) and a 0.70 blocks per set mark…Led the team with a .281 hitting percentage…Led the team with 370 points…Finished second on the team with 640 total attacks…Finished second on the team with 42 service aces…Added 70 digs and three assists…Her 279 kills ranked fifth among the program’s single-season records…She also broke into the single-season records with her .281 hitting percentage (ninth) and 74 blocks (11th)…Set a program record for a three-set match with 21 kills against Goucher College (Oct. 22), while adding a .581 hitting percentage (21 kills and three errors in 31 attacks)…Had 23 kills against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 20) for the fourth-highest four-set match mark in program history…Overall, had 15 matches with double-digit kills…Notched a high of 46 total attacks against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 20), while compiling a .283 hitting percentage…Had a hitting percentage of .400 or better in eight matches (six of them with double-digit kills), with a high of .667 (six kills, no errors in nine attempts) against Swarthmore (Sept. 15)…Her .581 hitting percentage against Goucher on Oct. 22 (21 kills, three errors in 31 attack attempts) is the 12th-highest single-match total in program history for any player with 12 or more kills in one match…Had highs of six digs against both Vassar (Sept. 3) and Montclair State (Nov. 1)…Notched her high of six blocks (all assisted) against Marywood (Oct. 15)…Had five aces against both Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 4) and Brooklyn (Oct. 9)…Collected one assist on three occasions.
 
Volleyball 2021: Named to the All-ECAC Tournament Team (Nov. 12-13)…Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week on Nov. 15…Played in all 31 matches for the Scarlet Raptors, appearing in 107 of the team’s 109 sets…Finished second on the team in kills (240), kills/set (2.24), hitting percentage (.291) and blocks (78, including a team-leading 24 solo blocks)…Her .291 hitting percentage ranks eighth among the program’s single-season records, while her 78 blocks are the ninth-highest mark and her 240 kills rank 12th…Added 43 digs, 28 service aces and six assists…Collected eight matches with double-digit kills, including a high of 14 against Elizabethtown (Oct. 9), when she hit .520 (14 kills, one assist in 25 total attacks)…Hit .667 (six kills, no errors in nine attacks) against Wilkes (Sept. 19) and hit .588 (11-1-17) at Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 26)…Had five blocks in the Rutgers-Newark match, as well as five against Merchant Marine (Oct. 2)…Added five other matches with four blocks apiece…Had her high of five digs against both Washington College (Sept. 4) and Penn State-Abington (Sept. 7)…Collected three service aces against both DeSales (Sept. 3) and New Jersey City (Oct. 5)…Had two assists at Wilkes (Oct. 30).
 
Volleyball 2020: Played in all seven matches and 23 sets during the short seven-match season, which was held in March of 2021 due to the pandemic…Finished third on the team with 46 kills and tied for third with 2.00 kills per set…Third on the team with nine total blocks (two solo, seven assisted)…Had 13 digs and four service aces…Collected her season high of 10 kills, while hitting .421 with two digs, one ace and one assisted block, in her first collegiate match, the season opener at William Paterson (March 2)…Had nine kills, hit .538 and added her season high of five digs in a New Jersey Athletic Conference quarterfinal win over New Jersey City (March 18)…Had her season highs of three aces and four assisted blocks, while adding three kills and two digs against Montclair State (March 11)…Collected eight kills against Kean (March 16).
