Biography
Brinn Hassan completed her spectacular Rutgers-Camden volleyball career as the program’s all-time leader with 2,769 assists. She finished second in assists per set (7.14), third in aces (184), fifth in matches (119), 10th in sets (388), 10th in digs (719) and 15th in hitting percentage (.182).

During her final season in 2022, Hassan also set a single-season program record with 8.61 assists/set and notched 852 assists, second only to her program-record 861 assists set in 2021.

A two-time New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team honoree, Brinn is the third of three Hassan sisters to star on the volleyball court for Rutgers-Camden. She captured numerous academic honors in addition to her many career, single-season and single-match accomplishments.

Volleyball 2022: Captured New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team honors…Earned Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week honors on Sept. 12…Set a single-season program record with 8.61 assists per set…Had 852 total assists, the second-highest mark in program history to her 2021 record of 861…Played in 28 matches and 99 sets…In addition to her team-leading assists, finished fourth on the team with 183 digs…Collected 53 kills, 26 service aces, 14 blocks (all assisted) and a .197 hitting percentage…Notched double-digit assists in every match, including 20 or more on 24 occasions…Set single-match program assist marks for both a four-set match (Gwynedd Mercy, Oct. 20) and a five-set match (Montclair State, Oct. 11), with 53 assists in each match…Also had 47 assists in a five-set match against Ramapo (Sept. 22), tied for the seventh-highest five-set match total in program history…For three-set matches, had 39 assists against Goucher on Oct. 22, the second-highest single-match total in program history behind her own mark of 43 set during the 2020 season, which was played in the spring of 2021…Also had 34 assists against Immaculata (Oct. 16), tied for the fifth-highest three-set total in program history…With 25 assists against Ursinus (Sept. 8), she became only the second person in program history to pass 2,000 career assists…With 19 assists against Stockton (Oct. 25), she broke the program record of 2,692 assists set by Stephanie Miller (2009-12) and hiked her total to 2,710…Collected over 30 assists in 11 matches…Had double-doubles against Rowan on Sept. 13 (16 assists, 10 digs) and Elizabethtown on Sept. 24 (28 assists, 11 digs)…Collected a high of three block assists against John Jay (Oct. 27)…Had a high of four service aces against Brooklyn (Oct. 9)…Had a high of five kills against both Ramapo (Sept. 22) and New Jersey City (Sept. 27).

Volleyball 2021: Set a single-season program record for assists (861)…Second among single-season program records for assists/set (8.36) and tied for 10th in aces (52)…Collected six double-doubles during the season with her assists and digs…Her 34 assists against Alfred (Oct. 30) was the fourth-highest three-set mark in program history…Named Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week on Nov. 1…Had 42 assists in a five-set match against Elizabethtown (Oct. 9) and 41 assists over four sets against Brooklyn (Oct. 23)…Also had 40 assists in four sets against Washington College (Sept. 4)…Played in all 31 Rutgers-Camden matches and in 103 of the team’s 109 sets…In addition to her team-leading assists, finished second in service aces (52), third in digs (214) and sixth in both kills (62) and blocks (12)…Had her first double-double in the season-opening match at DeSales (Sept. 3), when she collected 34 assists and 10 digs…Notched 39 assists and 10 digs against King’s College (Sept. 11) and 34 assists and 12 digs against Stockton (Sept. 21)…Collected her season highs of 42 assists and 16 digs in the Elizabethtown match…Also had double-doubles of 33 assists and 13 digs against Rowan (Oct. 14) and 28 assists and 15 digs against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 21)…Barely missed a double-double on four other occasions, collecting nine digs apiece against Penn State-Abington (Sept. 7, while adding 39 assists), New Jersey City (Oct. 5, 29 assists), William Paterson (Oct. 12, 36 assists) and Kean (Oct. 19, 33 assists)…Collected a season-high seven service aces, to go along with 27 assists and seven digs, in a match against Immaculata (Sept. 10).

Volleyball 2020: New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team…Raptor of the Week March 8…Set the program’s record for a three-set match with 43 assists against William Paterson (March 2, 2021), breaking the old mark of 36 by Stephanie Miller against Delaware Valley College on Oct. 16, 2010…Played in all seven matches and 23 sets during the pandemic-shortened season, tying for first on the team in both categories…Led the team with 199 assists and 8.65 assists per set…Tied for the team lead with 13 service aces and 0.57 aces per set…Notched 32 digs, 12 kills and one assisted block…Had 23 or more assists in six of her seven matches and 32 or more assists on three occasions…Collected 36 assists and 12 digs against Montclair State (March 11) for her lone double-double of the season, while adding three service aces…Had 32 assists and a season-high four service aces during a New Jersey Athletic Conference quarterfinal victory over New Jersey City (March 18).

Volleyball 2019: Played in 27 of the Scarlet Raptors’ 28 matches…Appeared in 73 sets…Led the team with 417 assists (the 11th-highest single-season total in program history)…Was second on the team with a 5.71 assist/set average…Finished fourth in service aces (27) and tied for fourth in digs (140)…Added 44 kills and six assisted blocks…Notched three double-doubles with assists and digs, including 10 digs and her season high of 30 assists against Penn State-Abington (Sept. 11)…Had 11 digs apiece as part of double-doubles against Sarah Lawrence (Oct. 12, 21 assists) and Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 19, 17 assists)…Overall, notched double-digits in assists in 23 of her 27 matches, including her last 20 matches of the season…Had 20 or more assists on seven occasions, including her 30 against Penn State-Abington and 26 against William Paterson (Oct. 1)…Had three or more service aces on five occasions, including a high of six against Widener (Sept. 14)…Collected her high of five kills against Brooklyn (Oct. 19) and matches with four kills against both Stevenson (Aug. 30), Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 17) and New Jersey City (Oct. 29)…Had two block assists against both John Jay (Oct. 2) and Ramapo (Oct. 22).

Volleyball 2018: Appeared in 26 matches, starting 16, and playing in 90 sets (fifth on the team)…Placed her name among the program’s single-season leaders with 66 service aces (fourth) and 0.73 aces per set (fifth), while also recording the ninth-highest season mark for assists per set (4.89) and the 10th-highest season mark for total assists (440)…On the NCAA Division III national level, finished 17th in aces per set and 20th in total aces…Led the team in assists, aces and hitting percentage (.222)…Added 23 kills, and 150 digs…Notched four double-doubles with assists and digs, including 27 assists and 14 digs against Colby-Sawyer (Sept. 1)…Also had 27 assists against Brooklyn (Sept. 22)…Had 20 assists and 15 digs in the opener of a Sept. 1 tri-match, coming against Washington College, while adding her season high of four kills…Collected 20 or more assists on 10 occasions, led by her two 27-assist matches…Added a pair of matches with 25 assists apiece, coming against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 13) and Ramapo (Oct. 16)…Had double-digit assists in 24 of her 26 matches…Had six service aces at William Paterson (Oct. 4) and raised her season high to seven aces in her next match against Rowan (Oct. 9), while adding 23 assists…Also had six aces and 21 assists against St. Joseph-Long Island (Oct. 13).
