Ciera McCrae's Native American heritage

Ciera McCrae earned her first collegiate volleyball letter during the 2022 season as a key member of the Scarlet Raptors.
 
Academics: Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Dean’s List student for the 2023 Spring semester.
 
Volleyball 2022: Played in 93 sets over 28 matches…Finished fifth on the team with 135 kills and a 1.45 kills/set average…Tied for second on the team with 59 assists…Collected 33 blocks (all assisted) to finish third on the team…Placed sixth on the Raptors with 128 digs…Added 11 service aces…Notched five matches with double-digit kills, with a high of 14 against Moravian (Oct. 16)…Also had 11-kill matches against Brooklyn (Oct. 9) and Immaculata (Oct. 16) and collected 10 kills against both Marywood (Oct. 15) and Goucher (Oct. 22)…Had double-digit assists in three matches, with a high of 16 against Vassar (Sept. 3), a 13-assist match against Cabrini (Sept. 29) and a 10-assist match against William Paterson (Sept. 20)…Her high of 15 digs in the Moravian match (Oct. 16) helped produce her first collegiate double-double, adding to her 14 kills…Also had 12 digs against Stockton (Oct. 25), 11 against Montclair State (Nov. 1) and 10 against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 20)…Had her high of four block assists on three occasions, coming against Rowan (Sept. 13), Montclair State (Oct. 11) and John Jay (Oct. 27)…Had two service aces against both Montclair State (Oct. 11) and Moravian (Oct. 16)…Had a high of 40 total attacks against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 20) and hit .471 against Immaculata (Oct. 16, with 11 kills and three errors in 17 attacks).
 
High School: Volleyball and tennis letterwinner at Southmoore High School in Moore, Oklahoma…Volleyball team captain and team MVP for Coach Amy Williamson…All-Conference Honorable Mention…National Honor Society…Oklahoma Council for Indian Education Honor Society (Choctaw)…Elected Council Council…4.0+ GPA all four years…Graduated in 2022.

Personal: Born November 2, 2004…First name pronounced “Sea-AIR-ah”…Enjoys concerts, music festivals, travel, coaching and mentoring youth volleyball in school and YMCA…Psychology major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to attend law school…Ciera is the daughter of Terra and Dave McCrae of Oklahoma City.
