Biography

Injuries limited Andrew Brown to only four games in 2024, pushing his quest for 100 career hits into a new season. In 82 career games, Brown has 79 hits, 48 runs scored, 41 RBIs and a .294 batting average with the Scarlet Raptors. He also has drawn 50 walks and been hit by a pitch on three occasions, helping him compile a .405 career on-base percentage.

Baseball 2024: Played in only four games, starting two, due to injuries…Went 1-for-5 (.200) with four walks, two runs scored and a .556 on-base percentage…Had 18 putouts in 18 chances for a 1.000 fielding percentage…Helped to turn two double plays…Made his season debut March 1 against Penn State-Abington as a pinch-hitter in the designated hitter spot, drawing a walk…Started his first of two games as a first baseman on March 3 against Rosemont (Game Two), going 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs and two RBIs. while adding 10 putouts…Drew a walk as a pinch-hitter against Johns Hopkins (March 5)…Played his final game of the season as the starting first baseman against York (March 7), going 0-for-2 with one walk and eight putouts.
 
Baseball 2023: Played in 38 games, starting 34 (21 at third base, 10 at first base and three at catcher)…Hit .285 with 25 runs and 28 RBIs…Added five doubles and his first career home run…Had a .350 slugging percentage and a .414 on-base percentage…Finished second on the club with 29 walks, while striking out only 13 times…Also reached base once as a hit batsman…Tied for the club lead with four sacrifice flies, while adding two sacrifices…Stole three bases in six attempts…Finished third on the team in putouts (119) and assists (56), while placing fourth in double plays (13)…Hit .316 (6-for-19) against southpaws, .444 with the bases loaded (4-for-9) and .302 with runners in scoring position (13-for-43)…Tied for the team lead with 10 two-out RBIs… Had a seven-game hitting streak from March 7-17, going 10-for-25 (.400), including a 3-for-4 game against Salem State (March 17)…Went 1-for-2 with three walks against Susquehanna (March 13), while collecting his season high of 12 putouts…Went 2-for-5 with two runs, a three-run home run and four RBIs against Plymouth State (March 15)…Also had four RBIs against Ursinus (March 25, Game One), going 2-for-3 with a double and three walks…Went 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI against Rowan (April 20)…Had nine multiple-hit games, five multiple-RBI games, six games with multiple walks and four games with multiple runs scored…Collected five assists against both New Jersey City (April 16, Game Two) and William Paterson (April 22, Game One).
 
Baseball 2022: Played in all 40 games for the Scarlet Raptors, starting 37…Led the team with 141 at bats and 43 hits…Second among regulars with a .305 batting average, second on the club with 119 putouts and tied for second with four sacrifices…Third on the team with 21 runs scored, 17 walks and 54 assists…Collected 11 RBIs…Had three doubles and 46 total bases…Posted a .326 slugging percentage and a .388 on-base percentage…Turned three double plays…Went 3-for-4 on stolen base attempts…Led the team with 13 multiple-hit games…Had two multiple-RBI games…Had a pair of four-game hitting streaks, going 7-for-16 (.438) from March 14 (Game 2) through March 18 and also going 9-for-16 (.563) from March 22-April 2 (Game 1)…With only one hitless game between his two streaks, he went a combined 16-for 35 (.457) over the nine-game stretch…Had a season-high four hits against Stockton (April 15), going 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBIs and one walk…Went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one HBP against Alvernia (March 22)…Went 3-for-4 with one run and one walk in the opener of a doubleheader against Ramapo (April 9)…Had 14 putouts against Neumann (April 12), 13 putouts against Immaculata (March 3) and 10 against Ursinus (March 31), when he also went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBIs and two walks…Had five assists against Rutgers-Newark (April 11).
 
High School: Captured three varsity letters apiece in football and baseball at Cinnaminson High School, while adding one letter in wrestling…Was an All-Conference First Team player for Baseball Coach Kevin Merrill…Also earned All-Conference First Team in football, where he was listed among the Top 100 players in New Jersey…Earned a Math Award…Graduated in 2021.
 
Personal: Born January 7, 2003…Hobbies include fishing, golf and going to the beach…Criminal Justice major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to become a New Jersey State Trooper…Andrew is the son of Amy Beckert Brown of Cinnaminson.
