Rutgers-Camden Athletics

A four-year letterman with the Scarlet Raptors’ baseball program, Joe DiMento returns to the coaching staff this season after completing his Marketing degree at Rutgers-Camden in 2014.

During his playing days as a catcher for the Raptors, DiMento appeared in 51 games, starting 32 and compiling a .257 career batting average with 13 runs scored and 16 RBIs. His 227 putouts are tied for 25th on the program’s all-time list.

DiMento’s finest season came in 2011 when he started 28 of his 30 games, hitting .269 and leading the team with 22 walks and four sacrifices. He ranked 70th nationally in Division III with 0.73 walks per game.

Although being limited to one game during a tough senior season in 2013, DiMento made the most of his opportunity, collecting a RBI single in his lone at bat of the season and final at bat of his Raptor career.

DiMento also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during his Rutgers-Camden career.

A two-year baseball letterman at Washington Township High School, DiMento served as a team captain for the Minutemen. He captured Olympic Conference American Division Second Team honors as a junior in 2008, and also was a member of the Business Honor Society at Washington Township High School.
