Biography

After a stellar junior college career, Connor Van Dine became a major contributor to the Rutgers-Camden baseball program during his first season on campus in 2022. Van Dine appeared in 31 games for the Scarlet Raptors, while earning several academic honors in the classroom.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2021-22 scholastic year…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2021 Fall and 2022 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student.
 
Baseball 2022: Started 25 of his 31 games, playing mainly at third base and the outfield, with a handful of games at second base…Hit .286, the fourth-best average among regulars, with 11 runs and 12 RBIs…His six doubles tied for second on the team…Reached base seven times as a hit batsman, one off the club lead…Had eight walks…Posted a .357 slugging percentage and a .394 on-base percentage…Notched 26 putouts and 31 assists, while adding four double plays…Had five multiple-hit games, including four hits against Ursinus (March 31), going 4-for-6 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs…Also went 3-for-4 with two runs against York (March 1)…His nine-game hitting streak from Feb. 27 (Game Two) through March 16 was the third-longest streak on the team during the season, going 13-for-30 (.433)…His two-out, two-run pinch-hit single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Rutgers-Camden to a 12-11 win over Stockton University (April 15).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played ball for Rowan College at Gloucester County in 2019 and at Camden County College in 2021…As a freshman at RCGC, hit .340 (16-for-47) in 19 games, while adding 15 runs and 13 RBIs…During his sophomore season with Camden County College, played 26 games and hit .321 (26-for-81) with 15 runs and 16 RBIs...Dean’s List at RCGC.
 
High School: Four-year baseball letterman at The King’s Christian School…First Team All-American…Graduated in 2018.
 
Personal: Born September 19, 1999…Hobbies include snowboarding…Finance major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to either become a mortgage officer or take over the family tree service…Connor is the son of John and Renee Van Dine of Wenonah.
