Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Deja Briggs earned her first collegiate letter during the 2022-23 scholastic year as a member of the Rutgers-Camden women’s basketball program, appearing in 22 of the team’s 25 games. She also added academic honors.
 

Academics: Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2022 Fall and 2023 Spring semesters…Dean’s List Student…One of only 25 athletes on the 133-member 2022 Fall AD Honor Roll to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
Basketball 2022-23: Played in 22 games, averaging 1.7 points and 2.0 rebounds…Added 31 assists (fourth on the team), six steals and two blocked shots…Made her collegiate debut playing 26 minutes against Drew (Nov. 9) and collecting two points and two assists…Grabbed her first four collegiate rebounds against John Jay (Nov. 12), while adding two points and four assists…Had her first steal and blocked shot against The College of New Jersey (Nov. 22), while adding two points, one assist and one rebound…Set a career high with seven points against City College of New York (Dec. 28), shooting 3-for-6 from the floor, including 1-for-3 on trey attempts, while adding four rebounds, one assist and one steal…Set her career high of six assists at Kean (Jan. 4)…Set her high of six rebounds at Ramapo (Jan. 7), with all six coming off the defensive boards.

 
High School: Earned five varsity letters playing basketball and soccer at Burlington County Institute of Technology in Westampton…Honor Roll student all four marking periods…Member of the National Honor Society…Ranking in the top of her class…Graduated in 2022.

Personal:  Born December 20, 2003…Nicknamed “Swizz”…Hobbies and interests include creating clothing and running her own business, photography, traveling and listening to music…Psychology major at Rutgers-Camden who wants to start her career as a school counselor and eventually have her own business and facility that focuses on mental health…Deja is the daughter of Kristen Sheehan and Demetrius Briggs of Bordentown.
