A transfer from Ocean County College, Drew Zytko played a big role in the Scarlet Raptors’ starting rotation and added several academic honors during his first year at Rutgers-Camden. The Dean’s List student returns for his final collegiate baseball season this spring.

Baseball 2018: Appeared in seven games, tying for third on the Raptors’ pitching staff with seven starts…Posted a 2-4 record and a 4.50 ERA…Finished fourth on the team with 36 innings pitched…Walked eight and struck out 19…Also was listed as the starting designated hitter in six games, although he did not make a plate appearance…Made his Rutgers-Camden debut at Stevenson University (March 4), pitching six innings of nine-hit ball, allowing two runs (one earned) and two walks, while striking out two and earning the victory in a 14-9 Scarlet Raptor win…Took the loss in a 12-3 decision against Webster University (March 13), working 3-1/3 innings, allowing four hits, one walk and six runs (four earned), while striking out two…Hurled six innings of six-hit ball, allowing no walks and one earned run, while striking out five in an 8-2 Rutgers-Camden win at Susquehanna University (March 28)…Took the loss in a 9-4 game at Rutgers-Newark (April 7, Game 2), working 5-2/3 innings, allowing nine hits, five earned runs and two walks, while striking out four…Worked 4-2/3 innings in the second game of a doubleheader at Ramapo College (April 14), taking a 4-2 loss while working 4-2/3 innings of eight-hit ball, walking two, striking out two and allowing three earned runs…Didn’t get the decision in a 7-5 win at Montclair State University (April 21, Game 2) while working five innings of seven-hit ball, striking out three without walking a batter, and allowing three runs (two earned)…Took the loss in an 8-2 decision against New Jersey City University (April 28) despite allowing only six hits and two earned runs (four runs total) in 5-1/3 innings, walking one and striking out one.

Pre-Rutgers: Played both the 2016 and 2017 seasons at Ocean County College…As a freshman, pitched in six games, posting a 1-4 record with a 3.96 ERA in 25 innings…Allowed 35 hits and 11 walks, while striking out 19…Compiled a perfect fielding percentage with five putouts in five chances…During his sophomore year, appeared in 15 games, working 90 innings with a 7-5 record and a 3.40 ERA… His 90 innings ranked fifth nationally …Allowed 93 hits and 12 walks while striking out 59.
