Biography

Evan Carbone has earned All-New Jersey Athletic Conference honors on the baseball diamond and in the classroom during his three-year career at Rutgers-Camden. He has appeared in 63 games, starting 53, while compiling a .266 batting average with 16 RBIs and 26 runs scored. Defensively, Carbone owns a .987 career fielding percentage behind the plate, the seventh-highest mark in program history for any player with a minimum of 200 total chances. Carbone has 398 career chances, including 370 putouts, 23 assists and five errors.

Baseball 2025: Played in 22 games, starting 18…Hit .230 with a .338 on-base percentage and a .311 slugging percentage…Had three doubles, one triple, five runs and five RBIs…Went 3-for-4 on stolen base attempts…Walked six times and was hit by a pitch four times…Added five sacrifices to lead the team…Defensively, had 115 putouts, six assists and only one error for a .992 fielding percentage…Went 1-for-4 with one RBI, eight putouts and one assist against Immaculata (Feb. 22, Game Two)…Had a single and a double in three at bats, while scoring two runs and notching four putouts against Rosemont (March 12)…Went 1-for-3 with a double, one HBP, five putouts and one assist against Babson (March 19)…Had a double in two at bats against New Jersey City (March 29, Game Two), while adding 10 putouts and also getting hit by a pitch for the third consecutive game…Went 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases and three putouts against Rutgers-Newark (April 13, Game Two)…Went 1-for-3 against both Ramapo (April 19, Game Two) and William Paterson (April 26, Game One), while adding 10 putouts and one assist against the Roadrunners  and one run, one sacrifice, one stolen base and 12 putouts against the Pioneers…Had two-hit games in back-to-back contests during the NJAC tournament, going 2-for-4 with two sacrifices and eight putouts against Montclair State (May 3) and 2-for-5 with one RBI, one walk and two putouts against Rowan (May 7) on the way to helping Rutgers-Camden win the conference championship…Helped the Scarlet Raptors win their NCAA opener over Rensselaer (May 16), going 0-for-1 with two walks and eight putouts.
 
Baseball 2024: Honored as the NJAC First Team catcher…Played in 24 games, starting 21…Hit .292 with 13 runs, four RBIs, three doubles and one triple…Had eight walks and was hit by a pitch five times…Added one sacrifice…Compiled a .361 slugging percentage and a .400 on-base percentage…Second on the team with 158 putouts, while adding six assists and two double plays…Made only two errors and compiled a .988 fielding percentage…Opened the season with a four-game hitting streak (5-for-12, .417), including a 2-for-4 game with his first career triple and one run scored against Penn State-Abington (March 1)…Also had 10 putouts in that game, the first of three times he had double-digit putouts during the season…Had a high of 13 putouts against William Paterson (April 27, Game One)…Had another 10-putout game against York (March 7).
 
Baseball 2023: Played in 17 games, starting 14…Hit .271 with eight runs and seven RBIs…Hit two doubles and went 3-for-4 on stolen base attempts…Drew five walks and added two sacrifices…Had a .305 slugging percentage and a .328 on-base percentage…Collected 97 putouts and 11 assists…Participated in one double play and posted a .982 fielding percentage…Had four multiple-hit games…Had a six-game hitting streak from April 8-22, going 7-for-25 (.280)…Advanced 14 runners in 40 chances (.350)…Made his collegiate debut against Mary Washington (March 11), striking out in his lone at bat…Had his first hits against Suffolk (March 14), going 2-for-4 and adding his first RBI…Added a 2-for-3 game with two runs the next day against Plymouth State (March 15)…Went 2-for-4 with one run against Swarthmore (March 21)…Hit a two-out RBI walkoff double to beat Cabrini, 7-6 (April 3)…One day later, his leadoff ninth-inning single set the stage for a game-winning RBI by Giacomo Antonicello to beat Keystone, 9-8…Went 2-for-5 with a walk and one run against William Paterson (April 22)…Had his season high of eight putouts on six occasions.
 
High School: Captured four varsity baseball letters at Highland Regional High School for Coach DJ Gore…Also earned three varsity basketball letters…Graduated in 2022.
