Jared Vega developed into the Scarlet Raptors’ closer during his career at Rutgers-Camden, where he posted a 3-1 record and four saves in 26-1/3 career innings. His four saves are tied for seventh among the program’s career leaders.

Baseball 2023: Made 10 relief appearances, working 12-2/3 innings…Posted a 1-0 record with three saves and a 4.26 ERA…Walked five and struck out 13…Allowed 12 hits and seven runs, one of them unearned…Had one assist…Entered a game against Rosemont (March 28) with two outs and two runs home in the seventh inning, ended the frame with a strikeout and worked two more scoreless innings for his first save of the year, finishing with 2-1/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four…Made his season debut at Mary Washington (March 11, Game Two), working two-thirds of an inning and allowing one hit…Collected his first save in his third outing of the year, working his season high of 2-1/3 innings against Rosemont (March 28) and allowing one hit, no runs and no walks, while collecting four strikeouts…Earned his lone decision in a 7-6 victory over Cabrini (April 3), working two shutout innings of one-hit ball and striking out three…Walked one and struck out one in one-third of an inning to save a 5-3 victory over Penn State-Abington (April 11)…Hurled two scoreless innings of one-hit ball, walking two and striking out one, to collect a save in a 5-1 win over New Jersey City (April 16, Game One)…Allowed one hit in a shutout inning against The College of New Jersey (April 27), lowering his season ERA to 2.31…Had his lone tough outing in the season finale against Montclair State (May 2, Game Two), allowing two hits, one walk and four runs (three earned) in one inning. while striking out two…Overall, had seven scoreless outings in his 10 games.

Baseball 2022: Pitched nine games in relief, working 10-1/3 innings…Struck out 16 and walked six…Allowed 16 hits and seven earned runs for a 6.10 ERA…Posted a 2-1 record and one save…Made his season debut March 1 against York, pitching one inning and allowing three hits and one earned run, while striking out two…Struck out the side in one scoreless inning against Kean (April 2, Game Two)…Notched his first career save in a 3-2 win over Keystone (April 5), working 1-2/3 innings, allowing one hit, two walks, one earned run and picking up three strikeouts and his lone assist of the season…Also collected three strikeouts in 1-2/3 scoreless innings against Rutgers-Newark (April 8), allowing two hits and one walk, while picking up the victory in an 8-7 Raptor win…Earned his second victory in a wild 12-11 win over Stockton (April 15), one day after he suffered his lone loss against the same team…In the April 15 game, worked two-thirds of an inning, allowing two hits and one earned run, while striking out one…Pitched a scoreless inning against Rowan (April 21), allowing one hit and one walk, while striking out one.
